This answer will probably not be the one you want to read, but not all religious organizations are dishonest! There are many, such as, Samaritan's Purse, which aid many living in countries of the world. Their aid focuses on such areas as providing medical treatment, nurses and doctors who volunteer their lives to help those in dire need. They minister to people throughout the world in such areas as the Sudan, Ethiopia, Serbia, etc. At Christmas they provide toys and necessities to children who have never received a gift before.
Pat Robertson & CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) go into areas of the US that have experienced traumatic events, such as tornadoes, New Orleans following Katrina with food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities. What I find offensive is the criticism of people who have either never experienced problems of this nature or who have never tried to help.
