i have win98 as operating system & its necessary for my study.
Ps2 port of my motherboard is faulted, there fore i use a usb to ps2 to converter bt the prob is that when i start win98, usb to ps2 converter needs driver for it, bt my keyboard & mouse doesnt work, then how can i install driver for ps2 to usb converter.
Pls suggest me idea for it, its very necessary for me.

Ok it's been a long time since I used Win98 but have you tried using the add hardware in your control panel and installing those drivers manually? Also have you tried to Open Mouse Properties? To open Mouse & Keyboard Properties, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Mouse or keyboard. Good Luck!

Usually you have two PS2 ports on your computer. One works with the mouse and the other with the keyboard. So one of the two devices should work.
They make a serial to PS2 converter that you can get to attach the non-working device to the serial port instead.

does your comp have a serial port? if so try and scrounge up an old serial mouse, then install the drivers
In my experience, when things like this start to happen your mother board is on he way out. Maybe replacing it now is the best option before it lets you down big time

U hav'nt told about manufacturer of USB to PS2 controller..
Without it i can only suggest u to go to their website and download driver from there.
but the problem is installation... without keybd and mouse!!
First install ur device properly( i mean plug all connections) then boot ur system. I'm sure it will recognize new HW.
then dwnld drivers and install.
Tip 1: if it not happens then remove ur HDD and go to ur friend, install driver there and do a proper checkup with ur kbd and mouse there.
Tip 2: Take ur friend's USB mouse for few hours then do dwnld and install.
