The idea that a person can lead souls to perdition contradicts what the Bible teaches about God's sovereignty and his election of saints whom He has chosen before the foundation of this world.

That having been said, the Bible also teaches about false prophets who will lead many astray and try to deceive even the elect IF that were possible. It also warns that not many believers should presume to become teachers because they will face a stricter judgment.

I serve in a teaching role and while I would never claim to have perfect knowledge of all of God's truth I do my best to make sure what I teach comes from the whole consel of God's Word and not from my own private interpretation or the teachings of other people whose doctrines are debatable and don't match up with everything that I read in the Bible.

"My beliefs" come from the Bible and not my own imagination. I didn't desire to become a teacher because I knew what this passage said.

James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

But God put a calling on my life and I had to answer it because I also know what other passages say.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

So if it turns out that I have done a poor job in my calling then it's not up to me to decide whether or not I will take responsibility. God says that we will ALL give an account and He IS going to hold us responsible.

Who can be responsible for your decisions but you? That's the beauty of free will. You make the decision – your reap the reward or pay the consequence.

What if it's the pagans who are the blind leading the blind? Or the mormons? Or the satanists? If we include everyone in this list, and we can, then ultimately, someone else will always be responsible for your actions. That's not what makes the world go round.

Believe in Jesus and live or deny Him and die. That's the Christian belief. Take it or leave it ... and the rewards or consequences that follow. It's that simple.

because the fundies are doing what they believe is right, I don't think they will be going to perdition. Remember, some people really need the fundamentalist church to keep them in line. They are frought with temptation. It's hard for a soul who isn't still bound by a sinful nature to understand this. But I believe fundies have a place in society. But not in the voting booth.

Who doesnt take responsibility for their actions?

Who doesnt have to live with the consequences if they are wrong? That is not only a question for Christians but ALL of humanity. But we have the assurance through Gods revelation and Holy Spirit that we are spreading a message of truth.

What assurances do you have?

The problem is in your first sentence.

"What if you're wrong in your beliefs."

What you don't seem to understand is when you become a Born-Again Christian, you know - and I mean God puts it on your heart with 100% absolute certainty - that you are right. It isn't a belief or opinion. We don't flounder around in doubt and confusion like you do.

We know whom we have believed. Jesus said those who believed without having seen Him, would be blessed. The blessing is conviction of our faith.

Without the Holy Spirit living in your heart, this will mean nothing to you.

Once you accept His Spirit, all your questions, doubt and confusion will go away.

Hard to understand until you take that first big leap of faith.

Good luck on your journey, though - hope to see you on the other side!!
