Here's the thing... my bf's dad is in critical condition and inspite of it, he accompanied his mom to go on a tour. For me, it's really weird because they should be taking care of his dad in the hospital and even though his brothers and sisters are there taking turns to look after his dad, I think that the wife should always be there. His dad has been ill for 7 years but it's only now that he's been confined in the hospital and his condition is real bad. Though it's understandable that the wife is tired of taking care of the sick husband, I don't think that it's a valid reason to go on a vacation especially now. They'll be gone for a month and I want to give my bf a piece of my mind when he gets back. Do you think that I have the right to tell him what's on my mind or do you think that it's best to leave it alone?

As a girlfriend you might not have any rights, but at the same time, I do underestand that how this can bug you. Keep in mind that you do not know the whole family story, and you can never know what people would do in different situations. in addition, don't you ythink that his mother needs to take a rest so that she has energy to nurse her husband when he is discharged?
If this relationship with your boyfriend gets more serious, and you want to committ to each other, then clarify this, and make sure that you fully underestand the philosophy of this reaction to his father's illness.

You really have no right, however you should be wondering in the back of your mind, how he would treat you if you were ill like that. It doesn't sound very sensitive. Of course there may be more to the story than that..

If he's just a bf, I don't believe you have the right to say anything. Best leave it alone. It is a family matter.
