I'm sorry but there is not one single feature of VISTA that I like enough to call it BEST.
I don't use the screen widgets at all, and anything else is much the same as XP - but with annoying security features added over the top of them.

the shutdown button! lol ! - just kidding
actually I have Vista but really don't use it much. I like the sidebar though, in WinXP I had to use seperate apps (like Samurize, Desktop Sidebar, etc.) to have that. Sometimes they weren't exactly how I wanted them so I spent a lot of time configuring and tweaking them.
I can't seem to get my Vista gadgets to stay in the same location on the sidebar every time I reboot though.
I find some things about Vista really annoying compared to XP. One thing that gets me is that in a normal Windows Explorer window there is no button to simply go up a level in the directory tree, there is only a back button. Sometimes I don't want to go back, I want to go up! Why couldn't they include that?
I did mess with my Windows Media Center a little (I think that's what it's called). Watched some online content. That was pretty cool.
--- Vista made me like my Linux more. Much more comfortable. When I use Vista I feel like I'm just a visitor! lol !

Hi,
I'm running 64 bit Vista on a Dell XPS 410 machine. The one main thing I like about Vista is that it doesn't take all day to connect to the Internet. I used to have a lot of trouble connecting to the Internet via either a DSL line or a 56k modem under Windows XP. With Vista, a few seconds after the IPL process is complete, I can connect with no problems.
James :-)

The general appearance, such as the original wallpapers, the "floating" vertical bar on the side (with the clock, slideshow, calendar, etc.), the colours that you can choose for windows and taskbars, and also, the soothing sounds.
