Whatever your imagination wants him/her to be

God is complete perfection without the limits or needs of human beings.

God is not a human being so God is neither a man nor a woman. The pronoun "He" is not really accurate and not any more correct than the pronoun "She." The term "It" may be better in accuracy, but is not respectful, implying some being less than human as opposed to the truth of a being that is so much more.

There are masculine names of God and feminine ones. For example, the name Elokim usually associated with God's attribute of justice is masculine, while Shechinah, a name that evokes God's presence in a close and intimate way, is feminine.

In the Midrash, God is sometimes referred to as groom with the Jewish people as his bride and at other times (e.g., Friday night Sabbath prayer service) God is presented as bride.

Images of God as father and God as mother are found throughout Torah and Jewish tradition.

God embodies the ideals, the perfection of both mother and father -- unconditional love, infinite patience, strength, support.

Going by the dictatorial style and old testament viciousness of Yahweh, I'd have to go with male. But the old Hebrew word 'Elohim' for god although usually singular, often means 'gods', and isn't 100% gender specific. There are also bits in the bible with God speaking that refer to 'us' and 'we', not I.

Technically it's 'is', not 'was' God a man or a woman.

Paul warned about getting involved is flustering time cosuming subjects (such as this one). (NASB)1 Tim 1:4, 6 says not "(4)to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith." (6)"For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion..."

Intuitively speaking, everyone has the right to ask such questions. Sadly there is no answer because the bible only gives reference to traits and not appearence.

Keep your eye on the path and things should clear up.

Take Care Everybody

There are two types of God;Real & Imaginary.

The imaginary Gods and Goddesses were created by certain civilizations - powerful rulers & priests. These Mythological Gods are unfounded and gone with the old civilizations.

The Real God is the real Creator of universe.

He has no gender, no parent, no son, no partner and no family!

Why we use "HE" ? It is a language problem since we (humen) have no other word / sign to address the God.

Peace & Blassings!

The Biblical God is described as male, although this is probably cultural corruption. The Rabbis have many names for god, some are masculine and some are feminine, others are neuter and at least one contains both a masculine and a feminine root.

The true god would be neither, and yet not neither, for any duality would mean they are not the highest form of existence. To give a true deity any form of description is also to say what they are not, thereby giving them duality and by implication an opposite. Therefore God is neither male nor female, nor neuter, nor neither, nor hermaphrodity and he is also not not any of the above.

By the same rational God exists and doesn't exist as God must include both otherwise God isn't the supreme.

God is not a person. God is a faith. More commonly God is known as He simply because men were always seen as greater than women so obviously some1 as powerful as God would have to be male right? Wrong!
Because as i have already said He is not a person and therefore is neither male nor female. God has never walked the earth and never will. He sent Jesus as the human form of Him.

Most American Indian tribes refer to "God" in a term that is non-gender specific. The translation of (many of) their native terms for "God" is Creator or Great Spirit.

Worldwide, the multitude of names and interpretations for the Creator is based on cultural differences.

Personally, I believe the Creator/Great Spirit contains both male and female aspects . . . whatever name you chose to call HIM/HER. The reason I believe is because I have felt HIS/HER presense in my life. To feel the presense of the Creator/Great Spirit takes an open mind, an open heart and faith.

"Non-believers" are people who have not yet personally felt the Great Spirit's presence in their lives. To attempt to provide "proof" to these people seems futile.

God the Father was neither, but is predominantly written in the masculine sense.

Jesus, God the son, was born a man.

Holy Spirit has no gender either.

The one universal power that we call God embodies both aspects ,positive and negative. The soul as well changes its polarity from life to life in order to learn the ways of the world and to gain in wisdom.
