If you are not physically active then i suggest that you start. That will help burn excess weight. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat 6 small meals a day. Stop drinking soda and eating bad carbs like bread which are empty calories.
If you really want this you are going to have to sacrifice and push yourself to get to your goal of joining the Navy. Even if it means becoming a vegetarian for the time being to lose this weight you are going to have to do it.

I was over 40 lbs overweight when i went to join the Marine Corps. I wanted to so bad I worked out like crazy 7 days a week 3 hours a day and eat nothing but salads and veggies and fruit. I also staved myself which i don't suggest since you might risk gorging on bad food because you will be so hungry. Do this for a month and you will meet your goal. Also have them tape you as well, your body fat percentage might not be that high.

Good luck

It has been some time ago ha I was in the service, but they are not into a baby sitting thing. You do have a wife but also a child. Unless you have spoken with some one about going in, it would difficult to get a very solid answer here. They look at some other things also, such as do you have all your parts, not missing any of your fingers toes and such, do you wear hearing aids or glasses those can be a draw back depending how bad they might be. Did yo finish HS, do yo have any skills, any medical thing legal troubles. Good luck.

You can lose this weight very quickly if you are determined to join the Navy. Eat a proper diet, and exercise at least 20 minutes a day. Walking burns off more calories, than having sex, btw, lol. You'll be in shape within a month. Be patient with yourself.
Follow your heart, and do what you always wanted to. Become NAVY. God Bless Ya, and America!

You have to lose it before you join!? Thats weird. If you think about joining the Army instead, they will let you join if you're overweight. They'll help you and put you on a special diet.
Good Luck!

lose the weight. If you are serious, you will find a way to do it. Recruiters can't touch you until you are at least close to weight/body fat standards. By losing the weight you will show a commitment and a recruiter would be more willing to work with you.

Can you join Weight Watcher's? It's only $10.00-$12.00 per week, and couple that with excercise. You could be ready to enlist in about 3 months! Good luck & God bless!!

Perhaps that and your inability to spell. Grow a brain, work out, drop the weight and then try enlisting again!
