I need to lose about 40kg and don't have money for a gym membership. I have started yoga and pilates, and walking most days a week. I'm also trying not to eat carbs and chocolate. I take a multivitamin tablet every day.

Does anyone have any additional advice they can give me? Nice only. Rude/offensive comments will be reported.

1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, vegies and fruits

2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks

3) drink plenty of water / green tea

4) Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program. you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat. With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat.

There is no need for gym membership. There are lots of exercises that could be performed in the leisure of your home, and could be used as a substitute for the gym machines.

E.g.
Sit-ups
Push-ups
Filling a can full of water and doing weights training

Generally, aerobics activities expend energy and helps one to lose weight faster than static ones. Try to engage in more of it.

And yes, eating the correct amount and type of food does help a lot.

Start with a breakfast. Lots of fibers and do ad some carbs to that. It will kick-start your metabolism and will actually help burn that fat you want to get rid of. If you can muster it try to do the walk (also) before breakfast.

No food after 7 pm. No alcohol either, preferably just water.

Drink lots and lots of water. 2 liter minimum.
