The main rule in Australia is Keep Left. If you can't download the road rules, you will have to write away for a booklet.
Just in case, the booklet can be found here
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/road_user_handbook_english_print.pdf
Otherwise, write to the Roads and Traffic Authority and ask for the Road Users Handbook. This is for New South Wales but most of the rules are Australia wide.

Keep left at all times.
Give way to your right.
Cyclists have the right to use an entire lane if they choose so don't try to run them down or flip them off!
Don't pick up hitch-hikers - not really a rule but it should be....you don't want to end up on the news!

keep left, stop on red lights, dont drink and drive, give way to right, look for motorcyclists, dont pass on double lines, stop at pedestrian crossings, stop at train crossing, wear your seatbelt.
Indicate when turning. Be careful in school zones.
