Our two nieces are the flower girls in our upcoming wedding. I was thinking of getting them these little flower girl dolls that are really cute, as their gifts. They are 7 and 9. Are they too old for that?

The 9 year is mature... sometimes I swear she is 15! The dolls are porcelain though so they are almost for more mature little girls.

Sounds like a great idea. Keepsakes. However they can't actually 'play' with them like I'd imagine the 7 year old would want to do. I personally don't feel they're too old for porcelain dolls (if they are collecting them already). Final note: I recall a time when I was about 9 that I was a flower girl and the bride gave me a very nice necklace....I still treasure it to this day. Just a thought.

No.. I'm 11, and already matured enough for my age, and I only hate porcelain dolls. Vinyl is my favorite, so if the 9 year old doesn't like por. get her a vinyl doll with a fancy dress on. I still play with a lot of my dolls, like barbies, and baby dolls still! So If she doesn't want it, just don't make her have it. You should never ever force a child to do something they dont want to do.

For the type of dolls you are describing and the way they look,no they are not too old. Plus the 9 year old will put it up for display so it'll look pretty and the 7 year old will play with hers and make sure she is mature enough to handle the doll. Two of my neices are those age and they LOVE dolls.

depends on the child. most 9 year olds will still play with dolls. at that age they usually act is if they are much older one minute and then like a kid again the next. especially with the dolls being porcelain, I think that a good gift but it depends on the child. You might want to ask their mom if they would like something like that. or maybe a nice bracelet.

The dolls are beautiful and the girls will love them.

Honestly, I played with dolls until I was nearly 15. It depends on the kids. But all girls, even mature ones, love beautiful presents.

Ask their mom if they would like the dolls. If she says yes, you're golden. If she says they are more into something else, then get them something else!

My girls are 6.5 and 8.5 and still play with dolls, baby dolls,Barbies, Polly Pockets etc. My mother in laws buys them porcelain dolls all the time as a keepsake they would be thrilled if they had one they could actually play with. And it can be a keepsake when they are older, I think it is a great idea.

Definitely not. My daughter's are eight and they have the whole set of dolls. They love dolls. They are only young. I think about 14 is too old to play with dolls. But its really the imagination of the child to be playing with dolls

oh, I think that would be a great gift and something they will treasure for a very long time!!! How sweet of you to think about that. The 9 year old may not actually 'play' with her, but when I was that age I enjoyed fixing there hair and setting them up to be pretty

I think you can give porcelain to any age girl. They dont have to be played with they can be ornamental dolls. I think that would make a nice gift.
