Pray! Make a commitment to go to daily Mass, and offer up as your intention every day, "to know my vocation." You should also meet with a priest, either your parish priest or the vocations director of your diocese. Tell him you are considering your vocation and need direction. He will be able to offer you good advice.

I know our vocations director sometimes turns young men away from the idea of seminary, because he can tell this is not their vocation. But if he does think a vocation to the priesthood is a possibility, he prays for and with the fellow and helps him discern the direction God is leading him.

Enrolling in seminary next fall may be something that will help you discern. A lot of guys go to seminary for a year or two and then realize they are not called to the priesthood. This does not mean their time in seminary is wasted, because they learn a lot about their faith and also develop a very good prayer life that will help them no matter what their true vocation is.

I commend you for being willing to go wherever God leads you & I will pray for you today.

You have to really get to know "the world" before you can really renounce it.
