I need a copy of Works Database, is it possible to download for free anywhere?

No such animal. Database program is not separate from the suite package.

Not even a trial version of the Works Suite 9.

But why bother - the whole package is only $39.95 USD. Just buy the thing and stop wasting time.

The easiest way is to take the file back to where you have the Works. Open it and then choose "save as" *.xls from the file menu. Now you can bring it to the other machine and load it. If that is not practical there is a converting file and you have the link from the previous answer.
