Raymond, do your own reserach. You'll see the PS3 is a dismal failure and the 360 is the best gaming system on the market.
They are graphically equal and always will be.
Also, the 360 has the best and biggest on-line gaming community.

Nah, the PS3 has way better graphics. Plus, the blu-ray discs for the PS3 can store more space where the Xbox cant. So games that are released for both system,s the PS3 ones might have some extra stuff that you cant get on the Xbox. The PS3 has a higher price tag only because its better. There coming out with great games for it too. The Xbox 360 has too many problems like overheating, freezing, paying for online play (which you dont do w/ the PS3). Trust me when I say your money will be well spent if you buy the Playstation 3. Check this site for new and upcoming games on the Next Gen Systems. Some games they'll give you a split screen of the difference between the PS3 and 360 version of the game. Then you'll see the difference.

Ok there is a lot of back and forth so far with this answer.
On the issue of multi-platform games (games that come out for both systems) the graphics are basically the same. Some look better on 360 (Madden 08, GRAW) some look better on PS3 (Oblivion, Fight Night, Rainbow 6 Vegas, FEAR) so its kind of a wash when you are talking mulitplatform games.
The difference is when you look at the exclusive titles for each console. This is where the PS3 pulls away. The exclusive titles on PS3 have much nicer graphics and have a lot more going on on-screen than in 360 games. Games like Resistance Fall of Man, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Motorstorm, Lair, and Heavenly Sword look incredible.360 has some really nicegraphics too but it seemslike allthe exclusives for PS3 have insane graphics. Forza 2 and Gears of War are the best looking 360 games I think.
Finally the only system capable of having "TRUE HD" is the PS3. The 360 still uses standard definition DVD based format games which are basically upscaled to 1080. Kind of like and upscaling DVD player. The PS3 uses of cours the Blu Ray format which allows True HD picture and sound.
In closing I would buy a PS3 now. It is technologically more prepared for the next 3 or 4 years than 360, you get more for your money, and PS3 has better looking exclusive games. Plus the PS3 can do so much you won't know everything it can do for a long time, I've had my PS3 since 11/06 and I'm still finding cool new features.
360 is a good system too, the PS3 is better and has more potential for the future of gaming.
Take care!

Ok here is the deal, I worked for Gamestop for two years, so I got this question a lot. With a multi platform game (like Madden, NBA Live etc.) you will not be able to tell the difference in graphic quality. The reason being is simple, game developers can only make a multi platform game look as good as the weakest system can produce, in terms of graphics. The only real test of a systems graphics come from the system exclusive titles like Halo 3 and Gears of War for the 360 or Lair and Resistance for the PS3. They can however offer extras with different systems. For example, the 360 is going to have MUCH BETTER online play than any other system simply because they have the largest online gaming network other than PC. If it were me I would get the 360 Elite, it has a bigger hard drive than a PS3 and an HDMI port for full 1080p HD, it is also cheaper and has a better track record than the PS3. Hope this helped.

The graphics for the PS3 are a tad better but we all know that the maker of a game needs to make use of theses graphics. No game for either of the 3 main consoles have fully used there systems potential. Even though Ps3 is slightly better xbox360 could easily better design there game and tap into the systems true ability.
Now that being said out of all the systems in the past I think the ps2 has shown great potential for unlocking new limits for there system. Resident evil 4 was a game that used the game cubes graphics to the fullest. It was reduced in quality and ported to the PS2. Even after reducing its quality capcom needed to really use all of the ps2s hardware to its fullest. They used some bizzar programing to port it properly to the system. Now the game cube had better graphics then the xbox so for a ps2 port from game cube to ps2 to work that well was amazing. So if the ps3 has the same guts as the ps2 with top of the line hardware as well then I think the PS3 can overcome the xbox360 for sure.
In short right now xbox360 has more games and features but sony is newer and quickly gaining ground. I doubt you will notice any real difference between theses two systems when it comes to graphics at least not anytime soon.

Well, I work a lot with computers, so I had bought PS3 due to superior calculational power, hence MUCH better graphics. XBOX 360 will be on the market for 3-4 years, PS3 will be at least 7. You will be able to see a full capabilities of PS3 next year. Right now there are no games, that show you full capabilities.

No, the PS3 armed with a Cell processor will always be able to produce better graphics. However, at the moment, as both consoles are at the beginning of their lifecycle, the differences in graphical quality are minimal. Give it a few years, when developers can really exploit the potential of the PS3, then the graphics in playstation games will really begin to outclass those found on the 360....
Personally I bought a 360, because the difference in graphics were to small for me to justify the extra expense of a PS3

PS3 houses the latest Blu-ray technology which just makes it a lot more powerful than the 360. Which just means that it has a lot better graphics in total. Also, the 360 was released like two years earlier than PS3, which is why I think it's already a tad obsolete compared to the PS3.
Anyway, get a PS3, it has lots of anticipated exclusive titles like Metal Gear 4, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Haze, etc.
@ Arminator:
You've got that backwards. PS3 is the one that can do 60 frames per second. Not the 360.

On a standard definition tv 360 and ps3 are exactly the same. However on an LCD or Plama with HDTV the PS3 graphics are better than that of a 360. So my suggestion, if your using a regular tv, get a 360 its cheaper. If ur usin an HDTV capable tv buy PS3 its worth it.
