Ok, so my moms volvo has no key locks on the out side to unlock the doors. It's a 2005, you use the key fob to unlock the doors. problem is my mom has locked her keys inside the car and there is not a second set. AAA come out and they can not open the door because of how it is designed. nothing a lock smith can do and the dealer can't send anyone out until friday. Is there any other solution other then breaking the window to get in to this car? Sometimes wish volvo had something like on-star for cars like this. HELP!

the drivers side door should have a key hole in the handle or right beneath it. they can order a cut key and you could use it to open the door, but without it programmed it wont start the car. the other solution is to have the car towed to the dealer since to program a remote or key the car needs to be present.

hope this helps

You will most likely need to wait for the dealer on this one if you don't want to lose the window. other wise have it towed down to the Volvo dealership. all the dealer is going to do is look at the vin number and program a new FOB for the car to unlock it. If you go down to Volvo and provide them this information they should be able to program one for you. Of course you will need to pay for it, but at least you won't have to break a window. Good luck.

If you go to a dealership (either by towing the car, or potentially with just the VIN number and proof of ownership) they should be able to get you another keyfob fairly quickly. This is the same thing with lots of newer cars, and it's a real pain. Happened to my friend, but she got hers the very next day, so it wasn't an issue. It's well worth having the spare made regardless, for situations like this in the future, as they are generally not too expensive.

these cars came with more than one remote if other remote is unavailable to driver but not lost have someone call your cell phone and operate the remote [hold your cell phone close to drivers window with the volume up high] i have done this myself and it works for most cars [tried it out on an 850]
good luck, while this answeris probabley too late to be of value to you. file it away for next time, there always is a next time
