The word saved clearly means saved.
Jesus said you must be born again.
What we have now we have by faith.
He who endures to the end is literally saved and made new.
It is by faith we say we are made new.
We have not literally died.
It is by faith that we now say we are saved and born again and made new.

Far too many, unfortunately.

If we were "forever saved" as this doctrine stipulates, why would Satan keep tempting us, trying to get us to "fall away"? If we were perpetually saved, it would be futile for him to try to draw us into sin.

Jesus said that those who endure to the end will be saved, showing that it is a continuing thing that must be strived for.

God in both Testaments speaks of this, when He said;

Ezekiel 33:13

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Hebrews 10:26-29

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Another thing to consider. If we are "perpetually saved", how could we quench the Holy Spirit in our lives? If a person wasn't a believer in the first place and later fell away as some claim, they would not have had the Holy Spirit within them. But if a believer had the Holy Spirit within them, and through continued sinning quenched the Holy Spirit within them, then would Paul's warning come to pass;

I Thessalonians 5:19

19 Quench not the Spirit.

And if we quench the Holy Spirit within us, we haven't lost our salvation.... we have turned from it and have gone back to the world. If you repent and come back to Jesus, salvation is again granted to you, you don't need to accept Jesus again. But if you die before you turn back, your place in Hell and the Lake of Fire awaits.

Read the Scriptures c arefully, and you can avoid poisonous doctrines such as "Once saved, always saved".

I believe in this doctrine. It's sad how often it is misunderstood and twisted.
Once saved always saved doesn't give a license to sin and act like the world.
You cannot "fall away" from the faith. If someone is claiming to be a Christian and then turns their back on Christ it simply means they were never a true believer to begin with. They had a false conversion.

You said It,... A Doctrine ! Because the Bible speaks of backsliding. Your name can be blotted out of the Lamb's Book Of Life Revelation 3:5-6
In no way does Grace give people the license to sin....

This doctrine is not right. "...But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die. ".....................Ezekiel 18:24.
A man can be forgiven, but on condition that he repents of sins he has committed.
It is better not to flirt with danger and not to test the patience of God. Better to be safe than sorry.

I don't believe in that doctrine because even a saved christian can backslide if he or she don't study the word. We have to die daily with Jesus and then we can receive the resurrection power of Jesus. Can A Saved Christian be Lost? By Joe Crews- amazingfacts.org - Check it out!

I don't think a person is in and out of the kingdom every time they sin, like a revolving door. I do think though a person who actively lives in sin runs the risk of developing a seered conscience. Paul spoke of those who departed from the faith. If they departed from it then they must have one been apart of it.

I am Christian.. and i 100% DISAGREE. One can be saved but they have to be able to keep it that way.. People have maintain a good relationship with God.. and stand strong in the faith to be saved. If they turn their back on God and still expect to be saved.. they have another thing coming....

I've been saved like 5 times, and I'm still told I'm going to hell by many people.
