I recently bought a 600 count sheet for 40 dollars. Is that a good deal?

While higher thread count sometimes means a better quality sheet, it doesn't always. Sheets with thread counts above 400 may cause some people to feel too warm. The higher thread count sheets, being a tighter weave, do hold in more heat and are less breathable. This may not be an issue for some but if you live in a warm and humid climate (like Florida) you may find 400 thread count sheets can be soft and luxurious without feeling too warm.

I love higher thread count sheets. I got a fabulous deal on my egyptian cotton 1000 thread count sheets.. $100.. !!!! They are so soft and comfy.. They are a bit warmer than the lesser thread count but, not much of an issue... They will also last longer than 200-300 thread count sheets.. You got a really good deal....

Thread count pertains to the number of threads that cross in a square inch. The higher the thread count the softer the sheets. And yes you should wash them before you use them.

That was a deal. The lower the thread count the stiffer the sheet. They also get little knots on them.

The more finely woven the threads are...it depends on what you like, but high thread count usually means better made sheets.

oh yes, they are so soft and luxurious - you got a good deal! I paid over $100 for mine! I do find they need ironing though as the Egyptian cotton wrinkles very badly - but they are so worth it - enjoy your delicious soft, silky sleep

Absolutely!! They are way more comfortable and much softer. But they can get really pricey, though, in my opinion, money well spent! ;)
