I believe there is a purpose to life... I just don't believe it has anything to do with a divine creator or any sort of deity. Everyone has a purpose... mine is to be a mother and learn how to be more patient with things I can't control. It need not be any grander than that.

You are very important and not important at all.
In the perspective of the universe, then for all it cares you can go to hell but I personally don't expect the universe to care. Purpose is a self make objective, that is the beauty of it. There are no rules of what one must achieve, we get to wake up every morning and make our own destiny and decide how much we will take and how much we will contribute.

The purpose of life is not known. Just live life in pursuit of maintaing harmony with the world and people around you. You cannot be total good or total evil, but try to be the best that you can while helping others in any way that you can.

The key is to make yourself important. If people love you, care about you, love having your company. If you were to help as many people as you could you would be important to those people, and you have to believe that you are important. Take a big enough stand on something and make yourself important. And maybe just the little things in life are important as long as they are making you happy. Thats what life is about happiness. Its important to be happy!

Not any more or less than any other human being who's lived or died on this hunk of rock. I'm a tiny, tiny drop in an ocean that itself is a tiny drop in an ocean onto an endless line of drops in oceans...that's infinity, and perhaps only one dimension out of an infinitely-dimensioned universe, which makes me pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things, hence my username. That having been said, Life is what I make of it, and if I'm OK with that, then it was worth doing. I live my life for me, and that's worked out pretty well.

i dont think we all have a universal purpose, but that doesnt really bother me. the dumbest animals on earth appear quite content to live their lives by instinct. every animal is around now because they fill an ecological niche that they had evolved to fill, and ours is self-evident to be the dominant species.
if thats not a good enough answer, then remember that as long as we exist as free thinking individuals, theres absolutely no reason not to make up our own purpose and live by it.

Do I need to be imprtant? Important to who or what? Isn't it enough to provide for my wife and children and ensure that they have a good life?
There is a "purpose" to life, and that is to continue life. Nothing more and nothing less -- or anything else is "cake".

Theres no purpose to life, but you can define one or more by your self for happiness one. It is important to be sure that your purpose is for happiness not for suffering.
