do women shy away or go for these types of men?

I have a friend who is extremely problemed emotionally is paranoid can be an addict,but is also very accomplished-good body, intelligent,a good musician etc....If they do go for these types of men,why?

I don't care to be around people who are paranoid-- it's depressing...

i dunno why we do??? I guess we like the challenge of these types...bad boys r hot
