On the Alchemy to Chemistry analogy:
Alchemy is possible (on the basis that Alchemists wanted to turn cheap stuff into gold)... it's just not cost effective. I believe it's been done with lead.

At least astrology refers to the same stars as astronomy; religion isn't even in the same universe, it made up its own, called it "supernatural."
