"He had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced, or seemed to face, the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. It understood you just as far as you wanted to be understood, believed in you as you would like to believe in yourself".

(If you know from where this quote comes, I do NOT want to know what that person meant, I want to know YOUR intake on it) Thanx :)

To me, it means someone that you, for what ever reason, have made an instant bond with. Is it really just the smile or is there more unseen or unknown that has you infatuated with this person. I have known a person or two, that even in a crowded room when the person speaks to you, it is like you are the most important person in their life. You are the only one that matters to them at the moment. Uncanny, how some people can do that. It is a gift, for I don't' think it can be learned, it has to come from the soul.

It reminds of the cover of a historical romance novel with a gorgeous Adonis standing on a rock with his long wavy locks blowing in the wind, with an unbuttoned, ripped shirt and pants that looked like they were torn like he had been in a fight.

Not Fabio of course, definitely not him. Maybe Jason Lewis from Sex & the City.

It reminds me of this clip. I've never watched the show but I somehow ran across this.

I'm sorry I don't know where it's from, but it immediately made me think of a former boss and friend, who has the uncanny knack of making whoever he talks to feel like they are the only person in the room, the only one he's listening to, like he understands what you're saying, feeling, but you never get to enlarge on what you're saying, he gets it and you're done. I'd love to know how to make people feel like that, I always try to, but no one has ever said that of me.

I am so frustrated by this. I know this quote, or at least I feel I do and can't place it. Anyway, for me it is one thing. The way my husband looks at me or how I feel when he looks at me, if I was asked to describe to someone what our love/relationship was like that's it.

God I am lucky!

it reminded me of Jesus Christ who died on the cross 4 everybody while people spat on Him and mocked Him.
the only thing wrong with that quote is that Jesus doesn't need 2 believe in us because if we repent of our sins and believe on Him then He will give us His strength which is stronger and more lasting than any human beings.
