Stephen - People with food allergies don't tell others about it for sympathy. It's made known so people can be cautious. Would you question someone who claims to have high blood pressure or diabetes?

Tinkershelle - You're a dangerous person to work in the food industry. If you serve someone a food that they are allergic to because you question the validity of their statement, and they die, you can be charged criminally and you and your restaurant can be sued.

My additional comments are not meant to be mean or snotty. I was almost completely unaware of food allergies myself until I found out that my one year old had them.

I say I am sorry, and hope I do my best to accommodate them.
BTW I am allergic to onions. I am allergic to sulfa drugs onions have sulfur in them, thus the smell. I can eat minute amounts of onions, like in salsa, but if I eat that and a slice, like on a hamburger, then I get coughing and my throat starts to swell.
Maybe people should do some research before spouting their fingers off.

I ask what they are allergic to and if that is something they miss having. I am allergic to tree nuts but really don't like them so I don't feel I am missing out on anything! (I can eat peanuts as they are not a regular nut). I also ask what kind of reaction they have. Part of my noseiness is that I am a nurse!

Its the sub-conscious that causes those allergies by triggering deep-rooted thoughtforms the conscious mind cannot re-collect.
One needs to get out of a relationship and/or live like a single person (if one is healthy enough).
Advantages of this are:-
1. Getting the space to be yourself
2. Live life at your own pace
3. Cutting off unwanted over-dependency on spouse
4. Live like an emperor again.

I first feel bad for them and then I try to figure out what they are missing like if you can't have nuts how can I make brittle without them and still have it be brittle. Does that make me a control freak?

I'm a server, so I always think they're lieing to get me to take something off their plates. How can you be allergic to onions, but be eating salsa? That kind of thing.

My VERY first thought: nuts or shellfish?
And, yes, I realize that there are MANY other food allergies out there.
