im only an occasional weed-smoker (maybe 7 or 8 times in my whole life) and ive sworn it off forever because im joining the army. i know it was stupid to do it so soon to being tested but i do have a meps test next week. ive been clean for 34 days now and ive been drinking water too. last august i smoked with my friends about 3 times over a few days. im wondering can i pass the drug test?

Go to RITE AID or Wallgreens and buy your self a home drug test kit for weed they cost under $10 that will tell you, They really do work and will give you piece of mind. Now by all rights you SHOULD be clean plus I will not give you the big speech you what the Army policy on failing a drug test is. Just keep that in mind while are in, Look I did 20yrs in the Navy and I retired in 2000 and yea I like to burn trees now that I am out so it will be there when you are done, Hope everything works out.

At MEPS, and all throughout the random drug screenings I've gotten through out my 4+ years of military service, they have never taken a hair test. They just cost too much to do that with everyone. Urinalyses are much cheaper. I'm going to tell you the same thing they told us in Cleveland MEPS when I joined in 2003. If you have done anything in the last forty-five days, walk out the door right now and come back another time, no questions asked.
To be on the safe side, tell your recruiter that you had something come up and you can't make the MEPS appointment that day, but be honest why. As desperate as we are for people, he'll be willing to reschedule you and get you in two weeks or so from now. Just don't smoke it before the new time, and DEFINITELY do not smoke it while you're in. You will get caught.

You should let the recruiter know that you have smoked weed. Right now, they can't penalize you for that, but if they find out about that after you join the Army, you could be involuntarily reclassed. Just tell them now - since the infraction is so minor, they can still get you a waiver for a top secret security clearance or anything else you want. Don't wait until AIT to tell somebody because then they'll make you a cook.

There are many misconceptions about how long weed stays in your system. It stores in the fat cells and is retained there... If you're only an occasional user, it leaves the system in as soon as a week or two. If you're a daily user, then you're going to have a lot stored in the fat cells and it will still show up months later. If they're doing a hair test, then it will show, but it won't show a timeline. I would recommend you be truthful with your recruiter.. that you HAVE smoked it in the past.. but haven't in six weeks... and let him advise you. He WANTS you to successfully get through your MEPS drug test. He'll take care of you.

Depends on how often you smoke and your weight. If you smoke one J and that was it for the previous few weeks you are good regardless...If you smoke occasionally and you are not heavy you are most likely ok. If you smoke alot it's iffy. If you smoke a fair amount and are overweight it is iffy. The remnants attach to fat cells... Most generally 30 days is sufficient. Just drink a bunch of pickle juice the night before the test..It masks it. And yes i know from experience...back in the day. I still recommend quitting, from experience. Good luck!

Don't risk it,
It will F up any Security clearance you R trying for! A security Clearance is everything in the military. Basically if you don't have a top secret you will work your *** off. Tell your recruiter that you have to go out of state and to reschedule your meps another month out. Remember, this is on your record for life its like going to a police station and trying to lie on a drug test. Do not Risk it!!!!!! take 60 days!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. Never admit to it unless you have been caught for it/ arrested for it!!!!!!

Good stop smoking the crap.
Hair grows approximately 1/2 inch per month so shave your head to 1/2 inch
URINE test is 28 to 49 day but only 2-3 if used once.
HAIR is upto 90.
If i was you i would listen to the other guys and just tell them.

It doesn't matter if you pass or fail the drug test. Right now they will take anybody, even overweight people. I have talked to recuiters and they don't care if you have smoked weed.

Dont listen to the goofball that says weed will destroy a fine fighting unit, booze kills them just as quick, and what you retain now is trace amount you were never a serious enough stoner to show up as a fail on a drug test!

The Army realizes this and will probably let you pass.
Just don't do it again, and definitely don't lie on your application.
