Absolutely ... and with no reservations.

The immaculate conception is the Blessed Virgin Mary's privileged conception in her own mother's womb, free from original sin, for the purpose of eventually bearing the sinless Messiah, who is Christ the Lord.

If God has not preserved Mary from the stain of sin, then Jesus could not have been the Messiah, as Satan would have held legitimate dominion over the sinful flesh of both Mary and Jesus, and could have legally done with them as he wished.

To deny the immaculate conception is also to deny the sinlessness and the divintity of Christ, our redeemer.

It is impossible to have one without the other.

Yes.

Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

When the angel Gabriel called Mary, "Full of grace," Mary was already full of grace.

When the angel Gabriel said, "The Lord is with you," the Lord was already with her.

The Blessed Virgin Mary was in a state of grace before she says "yes" to the angel's question and before the Holy Spirit came upon her for a different purpose.

When did Mary's state of grace begin?

Catholics believe this state of grace was with Mary since her Immaculate Conception. This means that Mary was conceived in the normal way (not like Jesus) but that she did not inherit original sin.

God prepared her for her later role as the mother of Jesus.

Catholics celebrate this miracle on December 8 as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

With love in Christ.

Research reveals that Mary worship stems from the dogma of the Trinity. How so? It all goes back to the fourth century C.E. In 325 C.E., Emperor Constantine, who was not even a baptized “Christian” at the time, organized the Nicene Council to settle the theological debate over the Trinity. More for political than for religious reasons, Constantine sided with the trinitarians. The Nicene Creed declared Jesus to be God. That started the theologians thinking about the position of Mary. If Jesus is God, that made Mary the mother of God. This idea shocked some, and theological discussions went on for a century. Eventually, in 431 C.E., the Council of Ephesus pronounced Mary “Theotokos,” literally, “God-bearer,” or “Mother of God.”

Many people mistakenly believe that the immaculate conception refers to the conception of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ conception was most assuredly immaculate…but this concept does not refer to Jesus at all. The immaculate conception is a doctrine of the Romans Catholic Church in regards to Mary, Jesus’ mother. An official statement of the doctrine reads, “…the blessed Virgin Mary to have been, from the first instant of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of Almighty God, in view of the merits of Christ Jesus the Savior of Mankind, preserved free from all stain of original sin.” Essentially the immaculate conception is the belief that Mary was protected from original sin, that Mary did not have a sin nature, and was, in fact, sinless.

The problem with the doctrine of the immaculate conception is that it is not taught in the Bible. The Bible nowhere describes Mary as anything but an ordinary human female whom God chose to be the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was undoubtedly a godly woman (Luke 1:28). Mary was surely a wonderful wife and mother. Jesus definitely loved and cherished His mother (John 19:27). The Bible gives us no reason to believe that Mary was sinless. In fact, the Bible gives us every reason to believe that Jesus Christ is the only Person who was not “infected” by sin and never committed a sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5).

Agreeing with Kait, above.

I do believe Mary conceived Jesus without having sexual intercourse. However, Mary didn't remain "immaculate" - I find no reason NOT to believe she didn't have a normal marital relationship with her husband after the birth of Jesus, and likely had other children, including James.

If Mary could have seen into the future, she'd certainly be shocked and appalled at how the Roman Catholic church has deified her. She was just a humble young girl, a servant of the Lord. She knew who Jesus was - but she wasn't unrighteously proud that the Lord chose her to be the vessel that would carry and deliver the Savior.

Just because we can't comprehend the immaculate conception, doesn't exactly mean Mary was not a virgin... It's like everything else in the Bible... we are supposed to have Faith..Sometimes it pushes us to the limit to believe, and we are told we will receive the answers when we get to heaven...It leaves us just hanging in there.

Even when I believed in god as a kid, I thought the immaculate conception was obviously a myth.

Of course! God can do whatever he wants -- right? If God wanted to prepare Mary for the day she would conceive God himself within her womb before she herself was conceived, why not?

Even the muslims believe wholeheartedly in the Immaculate Conception.

Yes I do. The Bible talks about the sons of God having sex with women also, and there children were giants. God created all things, you don't think he could impregnate Mary any way he wanted. It is very interesting thought that a spiritual entity could or would have sex with woman.Maybe he just placed his seed in her some way we don't understand. Not like this is anything like that but there is a old movie called entity were a woman was attacked and raped by a spiritual entity. They tried to capture this entity in frozen gas It is amazing movie and is suppose to be a true story. I believe it happened.

Of course I do. The Bible says that whatsoever the Church binds upon earth is bound in heaven. The Immaculate Conception is binding teaching of Christ's Church. Therefore it is bound in heaven. To reject such teaching would be to reject the words of Christ Himself.
