Is does your soul contain your personality and memories?

If so, which of your personalities does it contain? The one you had when you were 4 years old? Maybe 20 something? 80 something?

you mind contains your memories, which include the ones of the child you were when you were four, the twenty year old and the eighty year old. mind is separate from soul.

personality is affected by experience. studies done in twins have concluded that personality is a direct response of your position in family, your experiences that ensue and the biological response to them.

neither of these are soul. soul is the innate sentient energy that can neither be created nor destroyed and is released to the next form of existence at death of the body.

btw, i'm not a christian...i'm pagan. and i believe that we probably have very little retaining cognizance of this life for very long after it passes and we move on to the next plane of existence, considering that i believe we are all part and parcel of the same source of energy.

The soul of mankind is the combination of body and spirit. When a person dies, his spirit, having all the prejudices, education, likes and dislikes, personalities and talents formed in mortality, will go to a spirit world to await the resurrection and then final judgment by Christ.

Whatever is attained in this life will stay with you in the next. That is why it is so important to get on the right track to God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

According to the Bible, we ARE souls. We don't HAVE souls. Souls can bleed and die it states. The majority of Christians believe in a separate entity from the body, something that lives eternally, but this in fact is not what the Bible supports.

Soul is our spirit. It might contain some memories and some characteristics of our personality.

The soul doesn't contain anything; it is simply what it is.

I think the soul is the self-awareness, or sentience. Whether or not it can exist outside of the body or after life is much beyond my philosophy.

You've got to be kidding right? The soul is you Jack, the flesh is what you are borrowing. Spirits have entwined themselves into your soul. The spirit of sin in the beginning, the Holy spirit after the Ascension.

Kind of limiting for a soul don't you think. Since your personality is a part of your soul, I would guess that it changes along with your personality. I haven't lost a lot of sleep worrying about it though.

i believe in the soul, but i don't believe that it contains memories that carry on after we die. i believe it holds our true personality, the one most people seek to ignore and hide. i believe it holds the spark of divinity that lies within us all.

A combination of all as it is all a part of you and who you have become. You grow and mature.....age is only a number. Your body ages, you mind expands.....we change our thought patterns because of the experiences we have and the learning process. You will become what you were born to be...complete.
