i have a pc and i am trying to find a good opperating software, because the one i am using is slow ( microsoft media edition) so anyone know a really good opperating software

If you can, a better solution might be to buy more RAM for your computer and stick with Windows.
Otherwise, your best bet is Ubuntu (a Linux distro). You can try it our without installing simply by getting a free CD from them and then boot your computer from the CD. You can see how fast it will run from the CD and if that is better, then install it and you will get even faster performance.
Ubuntu will generally run faster than Windows on the same machine. Then use OpenOffice and other open source software. Some will come on the CD if I recall correctly.
