I see this a lot on here. The catholic church claims they have an unbroken line of popes. However as I have studied this it seems not to be the case. For instance for nearly 1000 years there was a pope Donus II. Until it was discovered he did not exist. Then there is Pope Formosus who was declared a heretic after his death. This does not even take into account the so-called anti-popes. So my question is how is this an unbroken line?

sparki777 - He was removed from the list of popes in 1947 when it was realized he did not exist. That is why your list does not contain him. Google him and you will find info about him.
