For instance, if i put a wet book in the microwave, could I expect it to dry?

No. My nephew and I made a paper mache helmet for a LARP game and put it into the microwave to dry. It got hot and caught on fire.

Yes, but not very well. Dryers work by circulating warm, dry air around and through something. Microwaves just heat the item up.

A microwave would not really get rid of the moisture, it would just warm up the moisture. Air drying would probably be better than microwaving if you have no other alternative.

It wouldn't work too well.
Maybe with short pulses in the M.W. to
heat it, and then riffling the pages in free air
to do the drying you might succeed,
otherwise, the book might catch fire.

well whos been watching 'Uncle Buck ' then?

just cos he put his socks in there to dry doesnt mean it works and it WAS a movie not real life.......

no your book will get HOT very hot ...dont ask me how I know anyway I have to go now I have to go to the Dr for my burns on my fingers!!!!
