rat poison is nasty stuff for animals. It basically causes internal hemmoraging so animals bleed to death internally. The dog might look okay on the outside but it's insides might be turning to goo. You have to bring the dog to the vet. This isn't the time to guess how much it ate.

You need to get the dog to vet asap.

Rat poison works by destroying red blood cells, the ones used to clot. When you get a cut and it stops bleeding that's red blood cells at work. Red blood cells are known as hemoglobin.

When a rat eats the posion it can't clot anymore. Even a light bump into a wall will cause severe bruising. Since the red blood cells are destroyed numerous bruises are caused, and then internal bleeding, until the rat bleeds to death.

The same thing will happen to the dog if it doesn't receive treatment asap.

take her to the vet IMEDIATLY! there is no time to waste even if she only had a little bit...

rat poisen causes the internal organs to shut down and liquidise, its NOT a pretty deaf, its painfull and cruel...
she needs the emergency clinic imediatly.

while shes there getting treatment you need to come home and remove ALL rat poisen from your home and property, the stuff is chemically treated to be attractive to eat, dogs dont know the difference...you also need to be on a very carefull lookout for any rats that have died form the poisen as a dog can be poisend by consuming a poisend rat.

hopefully youve caught her soon enough!
go NOW

Check to see if you have a 24 hour vet and then call them or even the Poison center number.

Take her to the Vet right now!!!! Find an emergency vet. They'll give her something to make her throw up, and then something to help absorb the toxicity. If this isn't done immediately, your dog will die.
