Any tips on where to go in motorhome trip for mid-semester break in Australia.?

5 mates and I rented a motor for ten days and we are leaving from the Gold Coast and want to travel down the coast and try to reach Melbourne and come back. We are new to the country and Uni students. We are having trouble figuring out where the best spots would be to stop and check out. We have 10 days for our trip and get back. If anyone has any tips on where we should go and what is the best stuff to see. We are trying to avoid being in the big cities as much as possible. Cheers!

just follow the coast all the way to Melbourne great trip & you will find a lot to see & do(you must go through Sydney hard to advoid)
return trip go up thr Newl HWY compleat diffrent country from the coast lot to see that way too




what the next bloke said about Albury/ Alpine way then to the Newl is better than straight up the newl(dident even think of that)

What the first bloke said (but I would come back through Albury, Khancoban and Thredbo on the Alpine Way for a look at the high country, then north via the Newell Hwy for a bit of the inland).

I should add that if you are travelling before the first week in October you must carry snow chains if you are travelling between Khancoban and Thredbo.

It is a big drive in a campervan - they do not travel all that briskly.
