Well this is kinda of hard question
85% of the accuracy depends on the shooter.....
15% is the gun... Point blank.
There are guns that do shoot better than others these are normaly highend guns that allows for THE SHOOTER TO BE MORE ACCURATE!
Such as a gun with a better trigger, low recoil, better barrel, better sights and light weight..
You can improve most firearms with a trigger job, match grade barrel, and a custom grip.
Personaly I like berretas, glocks and FN FIVESEVEN. Out of the 3, the Fn 5.7 is probaly the most user friendly.
Great trigger, with nightsights, Low recoil ***, (5.7x28 round is accurate with pentrating power up to 100yds), light weight.
Thats about the best answer I can give you.

Using pistol rest to eliminate shooter error I would say either a compact Wilson Combat or compact Les Baer. However, most modern pistols from the best manufactures are far more accurate than the shooters ability. What you really want is reliability and stopping power.

Let's be honest here.
If you haven't formed an opinion on this already, then just about every modern compact pistol made by a reputable manufacturer is going to be more accurate than you are.
All of them will be capable of shooting a paper plate at seven yards consistently. If YOU are capable of shooting a paper plate at seven yards consistently, then that's all the accuracy you'll need for defensive purposes.
Practically nobody is going to use a compact pistol in competition. And engaging targets beyond seven yards in a defensive situation almost never happens--and is often prosecuted as a crime if it does.
So if you're looking to buy a gun for defense, forget about accuracy. Instead, focus on getting a gun with (1) a reputable name (2) in an appropriate defense caliber--nothing smaller than 9mm, and preferably larger, (3) that feels good in your hand and is (4) manageable for you to shoot.

Any firearm is only as good as the loose nut behind the trigger. I have EAA Witness compact model hand held thundersticks in both 9mm and 45; and right out of the box they shot dead on. Tangfolio reversed the rails which gives them a slimmer profile; which is neither here nor there; but they are well made and accurate.

I have found that the Springfield xd compact and subcompact are the most accurate for me. Of course it also depends on the shooter, but I shoot better with my XDs than I do with any of my other guns.

There is no such thing as "the most accurate compact pistol"
It's NOT the gun, but the ability of the SHOOTER that is shooting it. You will get as many guesses as you will answers and/or suggestions. All different

I own a walther 9mm it is very accurate. I also have a sig pro 9mm it is a little larger than the walther but also accurate. If the caliber is no issue than I would suggest the walther p-22 with the laser sight, it is more accurate than the longer rugers and s&w's in my mind.
