One of Jesus' claims was that he had the authority to forgive sins and that simply by believing in him we could have that forgiveness. There is a lot of peace in knowing that all my sins are forgiven . To obtain this you need only to confess Jesus as your Lord and savior. You don't have to follow a whole lot of rules or do a lot of works. Salvation is by grace (a free gift) and by believing in the completed work of Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, who rode on a donkey into Jerusalem exactly on the day prophesied by Daniel.

I want to spend my eternity with Him

That is what is claimed in a book not written by him nor inspired by God, unless by inspired you meen people thought of God while they wrote and thought what they wrote was good. The new testament does not truly go along with the old testament. I don't believe God changed His mind. "You shall have not other God's but Me." "Hear O Israel the Lord out God is one"
I worship God alone and strive to follow His commandments everyday. God does not need a blood sacrifice.

I think most Christians keep holding on to belief that they will be forgiven by Jesus dying because that is the easy way out. They don't need to be responsible anymore, they can just put it all on Jesus. I think that is NOT true.

Thanks for asking.

Why would I want to worship someone who has all mortal flaws, but denies each and everyone of them. and the fact that I have seen SOME of the christians here state that Jesus is god...(that seems a little creepy to me) and follow a religion the preaches the rights of men over women and the killing a of a god's own child to save people who probably could care less. more violence than I care to read about.

Praise Horus!
Blessed Be

If you read the actual new testament you would truly understand Jesus as he truly was not King Constantine's version and misconstrued ideas of the bible. read the original teachings of Jesus The Gospel of the Nazirenes. gospelofthenazirenes.com Jesus originally taught karma, reincarnation, vegetarianism and no one goes to hell eternally. Following the original teachings of Jesus will set you free. Now "go and sin no more." that is his instruction for saving you. Hope this helps you. It did me.

You need faith and the holy word, bible.
To say all you have to to is proclaim his name is like saying anyone could murder, ask for forgiveness, and start murdering again knowing after every time he can just ask for gods forgiveness and be wiped from his sin.
Unjustified.
Its more than just shouting his name and expecting him to help you,its the whole ordeal of living by his word spiritually and in your every day life..
salvation is by grace but just believing in his works and not living by them is hypocrisy and not going to get you anywhere.

Ah... well you see some people have decided that they should be smart and consider mythology to be nothing more than mythology. I'm not doubting the probability that Jesus was good and benevolent, I just find it hard to believe that by telepathically communicating to him that I believe he was the son of an abstract being, I will somehow alter my karma.

Your "free gift" had made mental slaves for more than 2000 years now!... Produced wars, tortures, and paralyzed mankind into developing a better, more humane society!

Because of the freewill we were alleged given to chose whether we wanted a free gift or not.

I have a better choice. I don't have any sin, no ghostly father figure is going to be eternally angry at me for violating obscure regulations and I never have to listen to a person tell me how horrible I am and how I have to constantly beg for forgiveness my whole life.

Only God is qualified to forgive human people.
No intercessor, no priest, no hazzan, no clergy man, no pope, no imam.
No savior between God and his worshipers.
Direct dialog is simply needed.
