I try my hardest in school. Honestly. I am in 8th grade. There are 3 different math leveles. Pre-algebra, algebra, and honers algebra. I got algebra and i really think it is a mistake. I don't understand any of it, my head really hurts when i'm doing it. I wind up being very furesterated with it. I need help understanding algebra. Either i switch to pre algebra or i get to know algebra,
My teacher is an idiot too and just goofs off.

Can you tell me how to learn algebra?

A lot of people have a problem with algebra.

What you should do is buy some books about Algebra and practice an hour a day after school and on the weekends. If after a week you still can't make any sense of it get a tutor who will tell you exactly what to do, or better yet - get a student tutor. If you have an older sibling who already took it or you can ask someone in honors algebra to tutor you. He/she will simplify it for you, and its usually easier to learn from another student your age.

I understand how you feel. I have always loved math, but when I started geometry, I was completely lost. The best advice I can give you, is relax and dont stress. Sometimes Algebra can be hard to catch onto. It is really repetitive, so just keep at it. Make sure you take good notes. As far as the teacher, bring it to someones attention. My normal math teacher was out on maturnity leave, and the sub was a complete idiot, and two whole classes ended up failing. When a parent brought it to the schools attention, action was taken against the teacher, so talk to your parents. Good Luck

I thought I was as dumb as dirt when I first had algebra. I also
had a smart mouth teacher that liked to put the kids down. I found a woman that was such a good and caring person. In no
time she had me understanding algebra. It is difficult to grasp, but when you do you have got it made. I wish you the best of luck. Post on the bulletin board or how ever you can
to reach people, then ask for someone to tutor you in algebra.
I will be pulling for you.

Well, I am very intelligent yet I could never understand much of algebra or most math beyond the basic for that matter. It gave me headaches and I was frustrated too! Please don't think of yourself as an idiot! Sorry I can't help you, I just wanted to assure you that there are many who feel as you do. Good luck!
