Like many things written in a foreign language and translated by a different culture that has changed since it has been written. The Published Korans extant has many variations both factual and culturally.

The Quran was memorized during the lifetime of the Prophet Mohammed.

Thousands of companions memorized the Quran in totality and it was taught to each new generation.

Muslims recite the Quran in the 5 times daily prayers.

Even to this day millions of Muslims have memorized the Quran and this is how God will always preserve the word in the hearts of the believers.

Paper books are considered a secondary way of tranmitting the book that will never change.
