For those who believe that they "deserve" Heaven because they have faith and works as well. You are taking the glory and credit for the work that our Lord did on the cross. When you get to the gates of Heaven and see Jesus face to face, what do you think he will say to you?

Thank you to each and every one who has answered, but I really meant to address the "Christians" who believe they deserve their salvation because they worked for it. I know that their are lots of you out there. Why don't you answer?

Come on you glory seekers. I was looking for a debate tonight. Instead everyone is in agreement with me. Surely one of you has to be brave enough to challenge me.

To Flossy May. I hope I gave them something to think about. Maybe we planted a seed or two of guilt and truth with all of your great answers.
Thanks again.

We had NO part in it, it was all Him! Even my repentence and belief was All Him! Romans 3:10 says that no one is good and no one seeks after God. Jesus says in John 6:44 that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws them.
Jesus also says:
John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Ephesians 2:8-9 is very important "It is by GRACE you have been saved through faith and it is NOT OF YOURSELVES lest anyone should boast"

-All Glory belongs to God!

Well we as humans can hardly take much if any of the "credit" !!`le'mm'e,' explain!!... "As for the act / if we did get any part of the credit!?! I think it would have to be someplace in the final stage !?! See.'We must give all credit to the one who gave his soul in order that we may gain a second chance !!. Now once is done away with; Then we can reap a great reward from it!?! Our Lord Jesus-because of his love for us & because he already knows what's in store for us >if< we can pass all test of time;!!. "If I did see a human trying to lay claim to the praises that is not due him.. That person will automatically look like a raggedy bum with horns!!. I'm after a prize that had been lost !! Is how I'd look at it !! . So I THINK that aslong as we can follow the directions that has passed down to us..but forfeited by ADAM&EVE & if approved by the creator;"The benefits are ours !!He has done his part !!"I'd atleast be part of the righteous followers!!"[He Jesus Christ will reign as King for all eternity"!!]...By the way:"All those from Earth that will have a chance to go to Heaven.' Have already been chosen !! & that number is <144,0000>& the last of them are not yet dead !!But nearing it !! "That's a reason all the wrongs that we still see today can still take place!?! "But a change IS COMING SOON~!!"keep on the watch"!(Mt.26-)`'R"r,r'.a,'wWw.r`,r`.-

He pulled it from all adult males and females human beings...my favourite verse approximately salvation is Isaiah 25:9 no longer purely does it talk of His salvation yet of His Being God come unto us and grew to become into written a hundred's of years till now His beginning/coming...it has started...you recognize the positioning...

Martin Luther summed up what scripture says in this explanation of the third article of the Apostles Creed:

I believe that I cannot come to my Lord Jesus Christ by my own intellegence or power. But the Holy Spirit call me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, made me holy and kept me in the true faith, just as He calls, gathers together, enlightens and makes holy the whole Church on earth and keeps it with Jesus in the one, true faith. In this Church, He generously forgives each day every sin committed by me and by every believer. On the last day, He will raise me and all the dead from the grave. He will give eternal life to me and to all who believe in Christ. Yes, this is true!

I was born again by the Spirit of God the moment he "quickened" my heart (replacing the old heart of stone with a new heart of flesh). I had absolutely NOTHING to do with my regeneration. It was completely a monergistic act of Almighty God.

Then the Holy Spirit imparted to me the twin graces of repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I accepted these gifts freely with my resurrected will. (Before salvation, my will was in bondage to sin and I could effect no spiritual good of any sort...much less accept Christ!)

The "good works" that I now do as a follower of Christ are an outflow of the faith that God gave to me. I take no credit for any of the good that I do. I have nothing to boast in!

GOD saves sinners!

Soli Deo Gloria!

Salvation is neither deserved or earned, it is the free gift of God in Christ Jesus !
If I got what I deserved, I would be in Hell.
God Bless !

He would correct gently for a time, then press in harder, but if their heart is hardened to 'Listen' to Him, He would give them over to the God of this world - satan.

No amount of good works can get me into heaven. My faith is in Jesus Christ, and THAT and THAT ALONE will get me into heaven. Nobody deserves heaven.

I know I do not deserve Heaven. It is a gift.
