I am still missing avatars on a daily basis, does anyone have a clue what is going on? If Yahoo is trying to sell some service, they have no problem spamming us. Wouldn't it be only fair for them to spam out an explanation? I would be somewhat pacified with "We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please bear with us while we search for a person who knows what is going on."

OK, I am not the only one who has had the email messed with. It has been like this for now three weeks, and I have a paid account with yahoo due to using graphics and Incredimail programs to create cute email letters. I am so frustrated at this, as no one as an answer.
My Avatars are not fooled around with, but then again I switch them often. As I am one for change.

I don't know anything either. Everyone in my contacts seems intact. But I know of others that are having issues as well. And the yahoo mail is sometimes weeks late.

A p!ssed off yahoo fairy is getting rid of everyone for who knows what reason(s). I haven't found a commonality yet. Everyone is trying and has been trying to find out why this is happening. So far, no takers.

I haven't had that problem, and everything seems to be working normally on my screen. But if, as you claim, people are losing their accounts and access to their mail in the R&S section mainly, it wouldn't surprise me if it's because there is so much rudness, hostility, downright prejudice and intolerance in many of the answers there. It's hard to believe there is so much hatred out there "inspired" by religion.
