And yes, I'm very well aware that only SOME Christians do this. There wasn't enough space for me to add that word :)

Nicola: type the exact same question in, as I've worded it, and you'll see that you have 1 character left. I tried it the other way and ran out of characters.

How about I call YOU a liar??

You got to love this question. I do.
It just shows how much alike we all are. Thank you.

I didn't know you were in battle with death!
If you can do it! bottle it.

You had enough space to post there wasn't space, rather than one four later word 'SOME'. How precious you must be.

Something for you to think about, a little story.
A man asked a dying woman, 'How does it feel knowing when you are going to die!"
She answered, 'How does feel denying You Are going to die!"
Think about it before you go to the field for the battle. dear.

Add:
Liar!! what was that for. I was having fun with you. It is kind of saying good for you, bottle it and sell it. What was wrong with that!

Here is an idea. Editing works, buddy.
'Some Christians: How would you feel if science defeated death, and you couldn't threaten with hell anymore?' and you have three to spare.
relax, I am not a liar.

Hold on to your seat. Christianity is not the only religion that talks about the 'H' word! We all going to die. There are two sure things in the world Death and taxes.

Speculating.....we are assuming that physical immortality has been achieved for SOME people, and at the right price (since it is a scientific breakthrough that will be marketed, let's get real...).

The possibility of physical immortality wouldn't really eliminate any threat of eternal judgement (or "hell", or whatever you want to call it). This marketable immortality would probably only apply to humans anyway, not plants, animals, or energy systems. Mortality would still be an issue for all of creation, and so would the eventuality of judgement.

Put another way, when the Big One calls your number, it doesn't matter how many magic pills you take, you're still going to see the Judge. Physical acts do not trump metaphysical realities, they are often just representations of them.

FYI, I'm not one of those foaming-at-the-mouth, Bible-thumping, "You're gonna burn in HELL" types. I find that approach repugnant, having been on the recieving end of it (as a believer, no less!) often enough. I just believe that ultimately, no matter how long anybody lives, God will have the final say in Everything. He was First, and He will be Last.

BTW, until humans treat each other MUCH better than they do now, and on a regular basis, NOBODY should have to live forever!

Science cannot defeat death, they can prolong it of course. However i study science and in under 1 billion years the sun would begin its stage into the red giant because its burning up all of its hydrogen. This means at around 1 billion years from now the earth will wither and become uninhabitable due to the raise in temperature because of the suns swelling.

However i dont and never will threaten people with hell cause i can careless who goes and doesnt religious is a personal choice not one that we all need to have in common.

And if science defeated death from illnesses and injuries, i'd be extremely happy =) for 1 billion years, then i wouldn't be too happy XD.

The point of being a Christian is to have a relationship with Christ. He forgives us of our sins, and we live in communion with him. Going to heaven shouldn't be the ONLY motivation. I would still tell others to follow Christ because he would give them "life that more abundantly" and "a peace that transcends all understanding." There was a time that even I as a Christian, was afraid about going to hell, but I prayed "God, I don't care if I go to hell or not, I want to serve you just because I Love YOU! It's a very good question you asked.

Christianity, has already defeated Science. We don't threaten any one with hell, each individual who does not believe , causes their own hell. On your death bed, you will know and then I hope it is not too late to ask for Forgiveness. Non-believers are in a living hell. Turn your life to Jesus. Repent and thou shalt be saved. God Loves you and I will pray , you will see the beautiful Light of God. Your in a deep dark valley, and all ya gotta do, is look up and out of the valley. There is the Light. Don't walk in the darkness.

Science defeat death,ya right maybe right after it learns to tie its shoes. How can you threaten anyone with hell unless they believe in it.If they actually believed that threat they'd be well motivated to heed it wouldn't you say.If they don't then it's not a threat at all just empty voicing and it would have no effect on them at all it wouldn't even be annoying only mildly humorous.

First off, as a Christian, my goal is to lead people to the Lord, not to threaten them with hell. Second of all, this will never happen because only God knows when your time to go is and science can't beat God.

Human science might defeat death some day, but I doubt it. Human science will never advance beyond God's to defeat God. So I must say our science will never change my fear of God and my punishment for being so arrogant towards Him.

That's not going to happen, so why worry about it? But, to answer your question, I would have no problem with it if that were possible except I'd be concerned to make sure that I could choose to opt out of that situation so that I could be with God.

When and if that ever happens, then we can discuss it. and by the way, God defeated death long before man/science ever even thought about it.
