The rule books are for people who don't have a concept on how we should respect each other. I don't think we need repercussions for our actions in order to keep us straight, nor do I believe in an afterlife.

It should not take any type of motivation to be good to others. I am good to others because others deserve my respect as I do in return. We are all the same, and we are worthy of appreciation for our own innate qualities.
