I thought that those in R&S might like the opportunity to express themseves in an Original poem. ALL are welcome to participate, just keep it uplifting and pleasant, NO Sniping at anyone allowed.
By original of course I mean You are the author.
Of course as one of Jehovah's Witnesses I'm especially eager to see what my brothers and sisters come up with.

Great start so far,and you don't have to rhyme to express yourself.

Thankyou so much Babydoll. With your cultural background I understand what you mean, about how difficult learning the truth would have been.
Now your family has a rich spiritual heritage to be proud of. What blessing!

Thankyou Lover of Bible Truth.I KNEW you would have a great expression.

Ishvarian you expressed exactly how I feel every time I knock on a door!
Thankyou.

Welcome trk and the mom, your expressions both touch the heart of many of us.
Trk since I couldn't email you I'm glad you are here, instead of getting caught up with Unsilenced Lamb and her group they are disfellowshipped and none of us should respond to any of their questions here any more than we would speak to them at the Hall.
Welcome, and I hope as a group we can encourage one another and avoid the negative influences of the apostates in R&S.
Anyone got a good experience from field service to share? If you don't feel comfortable writing a poem share your experiences here.

Thankyou for your experience, tannerpreaching it is so good to hear how patience and genuine love can overcome opposition. Remember we are your family too. I hope you can help your mom to come to appreciate what she is missing.
Keep us posted on your study's progress!

Thankyou for being persistant Abdijah,I don't know why it wouldn't let you before on Thursday.
Your poem expresses such a keen hope for our near future.Thankyou as well as the joy we experience now,as we wait.

It seems I can't extend this question for more time to allow more to participate, but before it expires I want to thank ALL that shared here. I can't choose a best answer, because so many are good, so you'll have to vote.

I thank my brothers and sisters for your beautiful expressions.

I also thank those of you who don't share my faith but brought your own Loving expressions to this.
And even though it got a lot of thumbs down, you shared and didn't snipe at any one, thankyou for that.

Christian here. I made up this poem when I was in high school. Here goes....

I once had a bullfrog named Pete,
He had purple-polka-dot feet,
But now he is gone,
Since yesterday at dawn,
And his body lays smashed in the street.

I hope everyone enjoyed this...I got an "A" on this one.

I wrote this some years ago when my grandmother, Alice Wilson, died. She came into the truth when my mother was very young and raised her family in the truth. Having children who are the 4th generation in the truth, I really came to appreciate that had she not courageously accepted the truth and dedicated her life to Jehovah, getting the truth might have been much more difficult for my generation and my childrens.
Our Heritage

How many millions are left in trust?
How much in jewels and furs and such?
How much property left just to own?
If we are blessed with these, they are just a loan
(meaningless as stone)

They are for our use while we are here
But they are not the inheritance we hold dear
We do not mourn for our lack of these things
But for the empty place her passing brings

We are all poorer because she is gone
We wonder at times how we will go on
But she left an inheritance for us to keep
Until Jehovah wakes her from her sleep
(His love - How deep!)

To all of us she left an inheritance of love
An inheritance of faith in our God above
A beautiful inheritance of a kingdom hope
That makes us strong and helps us cope
An inheritance so rich that it can't be measured
Richer than any gold or silver treasure.

We have an inheritance of one another
United by the love of our dear mother
we remember the smile on her beautiful face
And we know that she can never be replaced
(Please Jah, make haste!)

We have an inheritance of peace and joy
That steels us against Satan's ploys
Our inheritance is so rich, words can not say
And when Jehovah opens her eyes one day
We'll give her back the love she gave away.

When I first began to serve Jehovah,
The car I drove was a Chevy Nova.
All these years I still Him serve
And from that path I will not swerve.
Not once have I regretted it;
Not for an hour or even a minute.
In the future when they are gone,
Those wicked who would God dethrone,
Those who harm their fellow man
Though they've been warned time and again
At that time there will come to be peace
Peace among mankind that will never cease.
Then eternal life will be in store
And we can serve God forevermore!

HI sis! I'll give it a try.

Walking through this thing call life
Filled with trouble and strife.
Then one day, these 2 smiling faces, were at my door.
OH, man not this crazy bunch.
LOOK, I'm busy making lunch, I don't have time to talk to you today, just leave your magazines and be on your way.
AS time went by I read a little here and there of the mags they left now and then.
Bit by bit I could see that everything I was told about this people, were as false as could be.
You see they did believe in Jesus and He died for our sins.
The bible they used was just like mine only with God's name, Jehovah put back in.
So you see God Jehovah did not give up on me.
I use to snicker and criticize, but I did not realize that this was the truth I had been searching for all my life, in and out of churches, without a clue, not knowing which one to cling to.
Here I am. And here I stay.
Serving Jehovah with ALL my brothers and sisters today.

Thanks sis. Take care out there.

Hi!

NEW SONGS:

I've sung the songs of long ago,
I sing the songs of now;
My heart has soared on music's wings
whenever life's seemed low.
I've heard the sound of angel song
when, lifted up in prayer,
I've told my Father everything
and the angels sang:
"He cares ...".

I've sung that joyful, peaceful love
of the children of the spheres,
but I've also sung that anguish which,
with the fall from grace, appeared.
My hopes are bundled into song,
along with sorrows and deep fears,
yet still the angel song returns
the message that
"He hears ..."

In time, I'll sing the ethereal song
in blessed eternity,
my spirit rising through the scales
when from all striving freed.
Then I will hear the welcome note,
that all my life I've known;
the trumpet call of angels guides;
His summons:
"Child, come home ..."

Though I might be old by then
by every earthly gauge,
my heart will be forever young
in that age that ends all age.
I'll fly with singing in my heart
and praise upon my lips,
to thank my blessed redeemer
for His sacrificial gift.

The old songs will seem echoes then
of the new songs that I'll sing,
whose underlying beat will be
the jubilant thrust of wings.

Good wishes.

I wrote this in May, 1992, as I began to really study with Jehovah's Witnesses...

I am like a child, exploring, crawling, creeping along
towards a faith
that I need for my very existence
but can neither touch nor explain.

I turn my face towards a sun, bright and warm;
a sky so blue I could swim in it it's depths, and
trembling with the joy of it all
I acknowledge you, Jehovah, as Creator.

I had never understood that the love I searched for,
the security I sought, the arms that I longed to hold me
were all yours, Jehovah,
and all within my grasp simply by
looking heavenward in belief.

I still cannot grasp your total love of me as I am capable of
being, and I sometimes take
as many steps backward as forward...
but I know that my hope, my future, my strength
are intertwined with You,
who loved me
even when I never knew it.

O.k. here it goes...
this is 'not' my best writing.
I popped it out in 10/15 mins.
Give me a day or 2 & I'll get u too. (ha....haha)

He Causes To Become
That's what it means His name for all to come
He said He would have His name declared in all the earth
Pronounced around its girth
Even His adversaries know His Great name
it causes no pain; nor is it in vain
For knowing His Great name
YOU will not wan
He guides us in Love
Disciples with Justice
His spirit is like dove
Coming from above
He takes delight in rewarding His faithful sons and daughters
And when His day comes
We will call upon His name and we will not be glum
For He will raise us on high
when our loved one's do come

edit: thk u sister.
Little lamb, I like that.

Oh Jah, how wonderful are your works
Yes, the heavens and the universe
Our unique earthly home
you gave to us to call our own.
To cultivate with loving care
not pollute or destroy as others dare.
Oh Jehovah, we thank you so
For allowing us to get to know
the knowledge of your Kingdom grand
for which we all must take a stand
We thank you for your loyal Son
who for us all the victory won.
May we always serve you faithfully
and live forever so that we see---
your will carried out --eternally.

Could I, but in this dead of night,
Where stillness lives, instead of light,
Go to where the Angels live,
On cloudy hills of pure delight;

And there beneath sweet Heaven's floor,
in trembling stand one second more,
To hear from their exalted breath,
Celestial sounds all men adore.

Such Music that makes ones life complete,
And having having heard, my rapid feet,
take me to my home again,
Where stillness there, I sadly greet.

What will I say on that special day,
when I see my Mom arise?
Hi, do you remember me,
you're now in Paradise.

The last time you saw me I was but nine,
and you were then but thirty.
Now are ages are reversed,
and I'm the one who's forty.

So many things we've missed,
so many things to say.
I'm so happy we have forever,
to learn each others way.
