Always save first then scan with your ant virus software before you attempt to run. Stay safe.

Well, it depends on lots of things.

If it's a program like IE7 or Windows Media Player then I tend to "run" them because they are always available from Microsoft.

If it's a program that you may not find easily again, or you may want to install it on a friend or family's computer, or you just want to have it available then I save them.

I simply created a folder (Downloaded Files) and I save all my downloads to that file. The only thing I make sure that I do is to rename them before I approve the download. Lots of the files will have odd names that don't mean much to anyone. So I always give them a name that describes them. You can use a really long file name in windows, so make it make sense to you.

Here's an example of what I do:
the download file name is: dlsetup.exe

I renamed it like this:
AM Deadlink - removes dead browser links (dlsetup).exe

Here's another example:

(setupeng).exe
Renamed to: Avast Antivirus (setupeng).exe

Hope this helps.

I save the file in case I want to use it again. To run it means that disk space will be used for that file just to see it the one time, so I save it.

It all depends on what you are doing with that file. If it's one that you only need once, then just run it. Otherwise, save it on your hard drive and then run.

well that depends. if it's something important and you plan on using it again, by all means SAVE. but if it's a one-time-only thing, then just run it. easy enough. =]
