I only have one comment to make. The Bible most definitely does not say that all paths lead to God. You have been very mislead if that is what you believe the Bible teaches. There is only one way to God and that is through his son Jesus. He said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Hey, okay I'll try the best to answer your question. Since I'm a Christian I really can't answer the question about Buddhists and Hindus, but the Bible does teach the reason why there is so much hate. - 1. John 5:19, Ephesians 2:2. And yes, you're right, many religions teach that we should love one another and be peaceful. However, they do exactly the opposition. Love, which Jesus called the identifying mark of his disciples, is less and less shown in various Christian religions. And other religions, such as Muslims and Jews, show the exact opposite of love. However, I have to disagree with you on that all paths lead to God. Notice what Matthew 7:13,14 says 'Go in through the narrow gate, because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it." (see also Luke 13:24) Also, even those who profess knowing Christ are not necessarily on the right path. Only those who show by their ACTIONS that they love God will receive the reward of everlasting life. -Matthew 7:16,17; 21-23. Peace and love are just two things that God wants us to pursue.-Romans 12:18; 1. Corinthians 13:13; 1. John 4:8. Now doesn't it seem fair that God would only reward those who actually show love for him? We can illustrate it this way: A father has several children who he dearly loves. One day he decides to go on a trip and he tells his children that they should keep their rooms clean and get along with each other. At his return, he would give those who obeyed him gifts from his travel. All the children agree. While he's away, however, many of his children start destroying the house and leave their rooms in a mess. They even treat their brothers and sisters in a horrible way. But a few of the children clean their rooms and show love to even those who treat them unkindly. Now, when the father returns who do you think will receive the gifts? Don't you think it reasonable that only the children who actually obeyed their father would receive a reward? God gives all the opportunity to get to know him. -1.Timothy 2:3,4. He is not unfair and certainly does not take pleasure in the destruction of anyone. And he certainly does not want us to treat those who are not of our faith in a violent or hateful way. -1 Corinthians 16:14 'Let everything you do be done with love.' I'm a Jehovah's Witness and we believe that we should treat all with love and kindness, no matter if they agree with our beliefs or not. Many people are misinformed about us; some think that we hate gays or those who have stopped being Jehovah's Witnesses. But that's not true. If you want to ask me some questions just email me. And to sum up the answer to your question: Yes, there are many religions out there who show unjustifiable hate to others, but that is certainly not following God's words. At least not the words from the God of the Bible. I'm not sure what Muslims or Jews believe, but from what some have told me, their God is a God of peace as well.

A literal reading of the Bible would lead some to disagree with your statement about all paths leading to God. But Jesus said:
"He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
There are many of us Christians who believe the same way as you. For while for me I cannot imagine living the spiritual life without Jesus playing a central role, I do not believe that being a Christian is the only way. There is far too much energy given to reminding us of our differences, and not enough to reminding us of what we all have in common.
Besides, what better way to show that you have been touched by Jesus' teachings (or Muhammad's, The Buddha's, etc.) than by exhibiting patience, forgiveness, and compassion toward all beings, especially those who seem different than you.

Christians have an erroneous attitude of " holier than thou " ( as well as many other religions , don't be deceived on that . )We forget that Jesus sat with all these people in good heart and love . We need to be the same . We strive to be like him .
We all can like one another and instead of being " holier than thou " and bickering about who is right and who is wrong . We should be trying to convert each other in the most precious way .
The inherent responsibility of a Christian is spread the word of God . The theory of all paths lead to God ( sorry , but it really isn't in the bible ) can't be accepted by a Christian because the bible specifically states that only through Jesus will you reach eternal life .
I agree with you none the less . Too many times I have witnessed people preach Jesus and profane all else . Jesus spoke the truth but never disrespected the individual who chose not to follow . He spoke it like he saw it .

Its about power it has nothing to do with God. Power is something that men strive for not God. God, Goddess, The One, The Light, Alla. step outside tonight and think about this would a power so great has to be able to create a universe care if you hoped one foot in an orange robe. Or tapped your head on mat. OR knelled on a bar. Do you think that a power or a being that could create all that you see around you could condone the things that people do to others in his name. No he doesn't that I can tell you because if you look inside your self if you stop and listen to the world around you. You can hear the liars and thieves the people that just want you to believe what they want because they need you to not because its what God wants. They need power and the only people that can give it to them are the people that don't question that don't look that don't listen they just nod, And follow what ever the nice man in the robes says to do. Because its easier then thinking. Men wrote the bible no matter anyone tells you. Men wrote every religious doctrine you will ever be exposed to. But if you look into your self you will find what the God, Goddess, Power, created and only then will you get all the answers to the question you posts. As for me I'm Wiccan why? one thing no one can tell you how to talk to god know why? God, Goddess, Alla, whom ever doesn't care how you talk to him, her, them as long as you talk to Them.
Peace
Through thine actions harm none
PS for the future Pagans are actually any one who isnt Catholic ;-)

Absolutely nice. Preferable, actually. Why no longer are living your lifestyles via the necessities and morals on your head versus the ones preserved in a ebook that can not be something however out-of-date. What could be fine could be if religions have been 'are living'. People amended them to fit our ever-exchanging lives and beliefs. "You shall lie with mankind as you could a lady in case you will have to suppose the traditional urge to take action; it isn't an abomination, it is flawlessly traditional. You will have to no longer lie with mankind as you do a lady if you are under the influence of alcohol - that is a nasty factor to do, although it's your boss and also you desire that advertising." That's a contemporary rewrite of Leviticus 18:22 New commandment: "Thou shall cost thy iPod at the Sabbath day, for the following day thou shall want it at the trip into the workplace." Perfect.

We fight because of religion, they each have their own teachings and beliefs. God sent his son for us to follow, because we couldn't follow the 10 commandments, we as humans put our own twist on everything and continue to believe that we will get to heaven if we follow rules of law and not the rules of the heart. God is in our heart and he knows we are human and will make mistakes, the biggest mistake we make is thinking walking into a church once or twice a week will get us to him. It is all about a personal relationship w/ him. Reading the Bible explains it all to us w/ the help of the Holy Spirit guiding us. Yes I do agree w/ your questions if it's possible to agree w/ a question instead of an answer.lol

You said, "Chrisitans the bible says that all paths lead to god." Where did you get that? I suppose you could say that all roads lead to judgment day. In that sense you could say all roads lead to God. But let me tell you--only one road has a favorable outcome. That is the road thru Jesus Christ. He said,
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

"Chrisitans the bible says that all paths lead to god."
No no no no NO. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is THE way, THE truth, and THE life. No one enters heaven except by him. All paths DO NOT lead to God.
And yes, peace is important. The biggest resistance right now is the Quran, and those who live by it.
