about 4 years ago(in november), i knew him really well, and now his mom is my teacher, and i wanted to make them a card or something, but i dont know what to put!

no one in her classes remembers/knows exactally when he died, accept for me and my bff, and i want her to know that i care, her son is a big part of what she talks about in class, so its not like a mourning thing,

If you have a sweet or funny story about something that happened between him and you, she might like it if you wrote a letter where you told it to her. It's interesting to see how the people close to us interact with other people.

If he died 4 years ago, why would you write a card now?
Since you knew him really well, I guess you knew his mom too? Anyway, she would probably be pleased if you spoke to her or wrote her a note about your friendship with her son, your good memories of him, etc.
Don't say you're sorry for her loss, as it's way late for that. Talk about the good memories you have of her son, and how you will always remember him, and you know she will always remember him with love.
