Because people always characterize people as themselves. Latino Christians have a Latino Christ, European a white Christ. Africa a black Christ.

Jesus was a Jew, not Arab. I personally know a lot of Jews who are white, even in the middle east. Most depctions come from Catholic art out of the middle ages. For one they always presented him as having long hair, which the Bible says that He did not. I think it is best if you have no picture in your mind of what he looked like.

The first paintings of Jesus were done by Europeans during the middle ages so that image stuck since then and it still stands today. So basically in our minds Jesus is a middle ages European.

yes, you are probably right. i have had this conversation with a lot of people.

there is no way he was blonde and very fair skinned..no way..

he was from the middle east..so he definitely had a little darker skin (don't know HOW dark, but definitely NOT pale) and dark hair.

Because getting a white southerner to turn his life over to someone who isn't white would never work.
