you ever seen a re-run? It is a re-presentation of what Chirst did, only in an unbloody manner. He said do this in rememberence of me and for the forgiveness of sins. The metaphor I am the door, is just that. But when Jesus at the last supper said "This is my body" there is no metaphor there. How do profane a symbol? Why did the jews walk away when Jesus taught them this? Why did Jesus not call them back, and explain he was only talking in metaphors? Because they understood him literally but could not accept it and they left him .

Isn't that a ridiculous accusation. It all comes from a translation misunderstanding from the Greek to English. In the Greek the word that is translated in some English translations as "remembrance" actually has no direct equivalent in understanding in English. the word is "anamnesis" which in would be more correctly translated as "to make the past or the future a present reality". It does not mean to remember as to recall a past event. It denotes a miracle that transcends time and place and transmits one to the one sacrifice of all through the miracle of our Lord and Savior.
