A lot of sand got mixed up into the grain making it crunchy which also screwed up their teeth. Ironically, bread was a food of luxury so many royal and wealthy Egyptians had bad teeth!

Aw com'on now folks....they made flat bread much like tortillas / tacos are made today and now--or better yet--county fair and baazar 'elelphant ears' without the cinnamon sugar--but I'll wonder if they didn't use honey and drizzle it over their bread. They used their wheat and corn grains, ground them down into flour and did their thing!

Nothing was wrong with the bread, honey, it just didn't have yeast and rise like our 'balloon' bread here.
(It was alot healthier than our white bread--that's for sure)

They ground their grains with stones and the grit got into the flour and wore down their teeth.
