Nah, Jesus turned water into wine, so some drinking is going on somewhere. Perhaps a Christian can drink, but should not get drunk. I personally believe it is up to the individual to drink or not. I felt like God laid it upon my heart for me to stop drinking. Eventually I did. Have not had a drop for more than a decade. However, it does not bother me when other religious, or non-religious people drink, just as long as they don't get drunk and start acting stupid.

Most Crhistian groups permit temperate consumption of alcohol-not enough to make the senses fuzzy and drunkneness is banned
Total abstinence movements from alcohol for the general Christian public started in the late 18thcentury Evangelical revivals,notably the Wesleyan. The 17th century Puritans had no problem with a little alcohol.

I don't know. I am a Christian and from time to time, if I go out to dinner, which isn't often, I may have a pina colada. Now, if I were with another Christian I would ask them first if that would bother them, and if it would, I wouldn't do it out of respect for their feelings.
There is nothing in the bible that says don't drink. It says don't be drunk. Personally, I think we should work out our own salvation, as the bible tells us, and not frown at what another believer may be doing......

I am one of faith in Jesus but not a christian. Drinking has no "religion" nor does it "lack" it. People who drink alcohol, no matter who they are rationalize their uses because after all they do not have the strong constitution it takes NOT to drink. They are of the "weak" minded and "weak" willed amongst us. I do not drink, because of all that the Apostles of Jesus taught they said to be "sober" and "vigilant." They said it so often that it is hard just to choose any one verse(s) in the New Testament to write down here. I guess the most simplest verse is;
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

There used to be a bumper sticker that read: "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven." Some of us forget that from time to time. Some Christians don't drink because they think it's wrong either because it's not good for them or because they think they can be perfect enough to hang on to salvation on their own. People like that could probably use a drink once in a while.

1 Coritnthians 6:9,10 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom.

We follow clear commandments to abstain
Deu 29:6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I [am] the LORD your God.
Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Pro 20:1 Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Alcohol, consumed in small quantities, is neither harmful or addictive. In fact, some doctors advocate drinking small amounts of red wine for its health benefits, especially for the heart. Consumption of small quantities of alcohol is a matter of Christian freedom. Drunkenness and addiction are sin. However, due to the Biblical concerns regarding alcohol and its effects, due to the easy temptation to over-consumption of alcohol, and due to the possibility of causing offense and/or stumbling of others – it is usually best for a Christian to abstain entirely from drinking alcohol.

I beleive in Christ and i once was a sinner. I drinked, did drugs, and was in a gang. I don't drink because its agaist God, God saved me through His beloved Son Jesus. I don't think the people is bad but the sin. If you continue in sin it creates death. I would tell you out of Christ Jesus to not to drink because it is wrong.
