I was wondering if a Eaton M112 Supercharger setup from a 2003 cobra fit on a 2002 Mustang Gt. will it just bolt right onto the block? Is the blocks different from the 4v cobra engine to the 2v gt or is that just different heads? will the supercharger fit on the gt? if not could I modify it to make it fit? I am a machinist so I could do just about anything to it. Thanks

No. Those are two completely different blocks. It "might" fit with a bunch of machining, but then you're looking at spending a lot of money on what is going to be a custom supercharger setup. Its much cheaper and easier to go with a factory blower that is made for your GT, such as from Vortec or Paxton..

Hey Jon, I though I would answer your question with some research I have done for you. I am a 2004 cobra owner and will be changing out my eaton for a kenne bell soon. The eaton from the cobras will ABSOLUTELY fit on the 02 gt mustang. The cobras block is much different then the gts block because the cobra is 4v per cylinder and all of its internal components are forged but this has little to do with taking the supercharger from the cobra and putting it on the gt. I have already made plans to sell mine to someone with a 01 gt and the place where I get all my mods done have told me that it is fairly common for gt owners to buy the cobra eatons and put them on there cars because they are able to save a huge amount of money by doing this. Expecially since you are a machinist, it would be very advantagous for you to do this. There are a few parts off the cobra that you will need other than just the supercharger though, the most important being the intercooler. I will try to get a complete list for you, I just called my mechanic and he is busy so I am waiting for him to call me back. From what he told me before though, it sounds like it is a realatively easy switch and it will definately be less money then buying a new supercharger. I will get back to you with more details when I get them.

p.s. I went to the track yesterday and found a guy with a 2000 gt mustang with a eaton off a 03 cobra. Proof positive that it can be done. Heres the facts. You will need to get 4 valve heads, cams and the other top end parts from a cobra engine. The owner of the 2000gt was extremely happy with his choice and told me that he would absolutely recomend it to everyone looking for a supercharger. He told me that you should be able to pick up a used eaton supercharger for between $150-$500. The rest of the parts you will need will cost you around $2500-$3500. So when its all said and done you wont be saving a ton of money. The part Scott (the name of the owner of the 2000 gt) was so happy about though was that instead of spending $4000 on a supercharger and nothing on makeing your engine better, if you go with an eaton, you get to spend most of the money upgrading your engine. This gives you a much stronger base, your engine will last much longer, and if you want to add more hp in the future, your engine will already have a lot of strength to it. As opposed to buying a vortech for instance, you are just adding a supercharger to your stock engine and not doing any upgrade of your engine. So yes, it can be done. Overall, you will not save very much money, if any, but you will not only have a supercharger, but an upgraded engine as well. Hope this helps you out, let me know what you decide to do, I really am curious to know how it turns out for ya. Mike

Won't fit - The Cobra has a four-valve four-cam engine, while the GT has a two-valve, single overhead cam engine. But, I'm positive that there is a similar twin screw blower designed for the GT engine. Pick-up a Mustang based mag & read the ads - There are a couple of manufactures that make twin screw blowers that will fit your car. Weather the new blower would hurt the life of the engine depends on how much boost/power you set-it-up with.

It will not work. The cobra enigines are 4 valve while the Gt is 2 valve. Save yourself the trouble and find something else. As a machinist you would pretty much have to overhaul the whole setup. No worth the time.

tork tech kit. Sells a kit to install the cobra blower on 2valve motors. I own a 2003 Mach 1 with a cobra blower. It's the best thing I ever did.
