how do they get away with it? well it comes down to this, sometimes. the child is in a tainted situation. there is nobody to turn to because they are more afraid of what might happen to them if they try to escape the situation and fail.
can we help these kids? not very often. the benefit of the doubt is,so often, taken advantage of and it is very difficult to catch wrong doers, dead-to-rights.

The social workers are so overworked that alot of the times these families get approved. Later rather than sooner are they caught and by then they have already done the damage to the foster child. I was a foster child and I was one of the lucky ones, I went to a home where I was actually loved. It is a very hard job being a foster parent because not all the time will you get a child or children that have not been thru some kind of abuse and here they are being asked to trust and open up. Not easy. I commend all the good foster parents out there.

They get away with it because there is not enough people to take in all the foster kids. If more good families took in foster kids, the social workers would be able to weed out those who really don't care for them.
