Actually I'm related to hundreds, no . . . thousands, no . . . millions of dead people. Were any of them famous? Probably not. Maybe back in the caveman times, one of ancestors may have been the head caveman or something, but no, I can't claim to be related to anyone either famous or infamous. Doesn't mean I'm not just as important as the next person though.

That is quite a distinction. Charles Lindbergh was quite the hero when I was young. :):)
But, yes, I am; e.g., I am descended from Charlemagne, kings, queesn, bishops, all that good stuff. More recently, I am descended from at least 3 of the Mayflower passengers and several of the families that settled Gemanna.
While not exactly "historical", my Mom was in her state's Who's Who.
No bragging rights, though; let's face it, everyone is, if you go back in time.

To the person who claims that descent from Charlemagne can't be proved is wrong in their assertion. It is possible to provide proof of descent when one knows what primary, secondary and other resources to research. Historians and genealogists make it their life to research pedigrees and determine relationships between the past and present.

I'm a descendant of William the Conqueror and Benjamin Franklin.

BTW, which of these was your grandparent? Jon, Land, Anne, Scott or Reeve? Just wondering.

I am related to Herman Miller and of course his son, Howard Miller. Herman is the furniture mogul of West Michigan and his son Howard is the founder of the Howard Miller Clock company. Here are the links to their websites.

They are part of history....recent history, but history nonetheless. They are from the Miller family of the Netherlands
