What do the Christians actually want? Power and the obedience of others? Total control over others?
What tangible actions do they want to occur so that they will be pleased and stop persecuting people?
What is with the constant disapproval of almost every action and the pointing out of "sins"?
Are they really upset that people are committing "sins"? Is this to say that if people stopped "sinning", the Christians would be happy? Or is it more than that?

It is not what we want , it is what God requires. We are all sinners trying to the best of our own abiilites.

Preaching the Good News is what Jesus requires of his true followers. Matt.24:14; 28:19.

Anger, I have no anger for any one only sadness, because I know what their fate will be if they continue to live a life that is not in harmony with God's laws.

The Bible's guidelines are for us all, we also have the right to live our lives in what ever manner that we choose, but this does not mean that it does not come without consequences.

Isa. 48:17,18: "This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: I, Jehovah, am your God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself, the one causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

In A Christmas Carol, the ghost of Christmas Present tells Scrooge that when he sees so-called people of God living in ways very different than they profess, he should blame only them, not their religion. I've never heard the Gandhi quote before now, but it's very fitting. I'm a Christian, and I've actually never even seen a street corner preacher in all my life, though I know people who have. It's very true that shouts and insults cannot win people into Christianity. We don't claim it does, and I'm sorry if you've been personally insulted. The reason we have to witness at all is because, according to the Bible, a non-Christian is literally not able to "accept" Christ on his or her own. God's Spirit has to breathe real (spiritual) life into the person first, and that is something a nonbeliever cannot simply "decide" to do, since the Spirit is communicated through the Word, or the Bible, which comes from the mind and heart of God Himself. People are still people, though, and occasionally witnessing does turn into a shouting match. Please don't judge the rest of us by the few. Most of us neither take part in or condone that behavior.

Generalization = Bad. Not all are alike.

As for your questions.

We're all sinners, Christian and non-Christian alike. It's not about what Christians want and don't want really. It's about what God wants, and that is for us to trust in Him and the one He sent, Jesus the Messiah for our salvation, the forgiveness of those sins.

I'm not upset.

I would love to see people saved.

Nope and nope. I am merely a human, a servant of the Lord. I require nothing and ask for nothing of anyone. Why would I want power over people, or obedience, or total control?

Tangible action, see above about people coming to the Lord for forgiveness.

Persecution happens all over the place to all people, Christians included. Christians are probably of the highest persecuted in the world. Christians are mocked all over the internet, beaten and killed in many muslim countries, have their rights nearly taken away in the US. I can't speak for those Christians who might be doing it to other people, but I'm certainly not one of those, and I don't condone it on anyones side.

The pointing out that people are sinful is to show that none of us are perfect and none of us are righteous, and that those sins separate us from God. That is why God sent Jesus, so that we can have forgiveness and be in heaven with God when our bodies die.

Sin upsets me yes. Not people. People are imperfect and cannot do right, they cannot be sinless.

You should take a look at John 3, Romans 3, Romans 6 for starters :)

You're confused. Christians don't get upset at you for sinning. It's not about power or obedience or 'total control'. We are delivering a message. What you do with that message is between you and God. Our happiness has nothing to do with you. But if we DON'T deliver this warning, we share in the guilt for your sins, because if you don't know any better, you have no chance to choose better.

If you want to go to Hell, that's your decision. But don't complain because I don't want you to drag me in with you!

Many Christians (not all) don't understand that non-Christians are not going to behave, necessarily, as Christians. The Christian desire is to live according to Biblical precepts, and a non-Christian has little or no desire there.

I am not one to ask for conformity. I understand that those who do not know Jesus will not want to live according to the scriptures. My main concern is that those who do not know Jesus would come to know Him and then live the abundant life He has for us - those who do accept Him will come to desire His will for their lives.

It is a shame you would see this as persecution - I don't think that is accurate and it is likely not the intent. I would say that there are those who try to get non-Christians to conform to Biblical values, when this is not what we are called to do. Jesus Himself did not ask anyone to "conform", but taught those who followed Him about the Kingdom and how life works in the Kingdom.

There are some precepts Christians would stand for in society, which may be perceived as an attempt at conformity. I agree with those who stand for the unborn and the protection of marriage, as these have an impact on society, not just "religious rules".

As it is, Christians also feel that non-Christians and Atheists want us to conform to their ways. Many Christians feel "persecuted" when there are those who want to go as far as to eliminate Christianity, much less remove God from our money, 10 Commandments from courthouses, Nativity scenes removed from in front of town halls, etc. It has gone as far as a valedictorian being denied his diploma because he mentioned God in his speech. In all fairness, the feeling of "persecution" is on this side, too.

Sin will continue until the end of time as we know it.

Christians sin and sin constantly, just the same as you do.

So, while the eradication of sin is a wonderful thought, we do know that it is not within our realm of life at the moment.

What we want, and what we are told to do, is to let all know the good news, and that good news is that, even our sinful selves can be not only forgiven, but GIVEN eternal life back in communion with our creator.

If you want it and God has opened your eyes to it, then great and welcome brother or sister! If you do not want it, and have rejected it after your eyes were opened to it, then Gods own word states that there is nothing I can do about that.

We only plant and water the seeds, God is the only one who can make them grow.

So, we continue to plant and water seeds, in this case it seems that I am watering. God determines if you will take root and grow.

Your idea of what a Christian wants and how they live is very convoluted. We live our lives much in the same way you do only we have set our lives apart for service to God. When opportunity arises and someone is seeking and asking what makes our lives different than most people they are around, we tell them. That's it in a nutshell. My goal is to speak to those who I am around. Our happiness doesn't depend on whether people accept our reason or not. God calls people - not us. We are to be ready to give an answer to whatever is asked. This forum is strictly for fun.

Last time I checked, I'm not upset. I'm just sitting here, breathing.

In terms of what Christians want, if you knew of something that completely kicked ass, say, Starbucks Java Chip ice cream, or The Beatles' Abbey Road, wouldn't you want to tell someone? Nay, wouldn't you feel obliged to tell someone, as in, their lives will actually be WORSE if you don't tell them? It's like you're doing them a disservice to keep Abbey Road to yourself, because let's face it, it is awesome.

What about if it were bigger than that? Like you knew the cure for cancer or knew of a collapsed bridge across town that people were driving over and dying? Wouldn't you want to --- even feel obligated, to tell them? It's like that. I'm by no means upset. I just have the awesome-est secret in the world, and it actually saves people. Why would I keep that to myself?

Also, in agreement with the others, I am a sinner too. In fact, if it came down to it, I could probably beat you in my sinneriness. Anyone who tells you they aren't a sinner is more deluded than a Britney Spears fan.

Christians who call others sinners are missing the point. According to Christ's teachings, we're all sinners. Christians included. Certain Christians are into finger-pointing, but that's not what Christ taught: Don't complain about the mote in your neighbors eye until you've removed the log in your own (or something like that).

everyone is a sinner, and all I want out of everybody is to fulfill every intention that God has planned out for you. once again, I'm not upset. I'm not mad that people commit sins, I do (I try really hard not to) but things happen, and God knows that we are born into sin and that if we are truly sorry and repent, He will forgive us and never think of it again. I am happy, and people are never going to stop sinning. but the fact that I am doing my part in life, and that I'm trying to live my day by God, that is what makes me truly happy :)
