Pinklon Thomas had a thudding jab but the quickest (not the best) was probably Larry Holmes, the Easton Assassin.

Larry Holmes hands down had the best jab in heavyweight history. Pinklon was not in Larry Holmes's league, but Thomas still managed to give Iron Mike a couple of tough rounds and I had him out boxing Tyson before Rooney told Mike to unload the heavy stuff.

Big Lar's was faster and harder than Ali's. Liston's was probably the hardest. It's hard to get a grasp of Jack Johnson's jab, but it seems to have been great. But Larry Holmes had the greatest jab ever, scored a KO in a title fight with a jab.

Larry Holmes had the best all-round (power, accuracy and speed) jab, followed by Ali, Joe Louis and Liston. People talk about Lennox's jab, but to me, he didn't really seem to snap it through. He used to kind of paw with it.

I don't know who do you have in mind but I think it's gotta be Larry Holmes. Holmes' jab was nearly as fast as Ali's and more powerful, in fact, the best in heavyweight history.

according to ring magazine a few years back, they gave ali, patterson and louis 10 out of 10 in handspeed.
since then, tubbs and tyson proved their handspeed as well.

It can't be Cooney so it must be Holmes.
